Ed! Love the new title!

What the...ha!

Sounds like an awesome scenario, MDM.

Speaking of scenarios, I dig the NPCs. Though I picture LF's character's mother as the Lucille Bluth to LF's GOB.

GOB is a tool. I never liked the character at all. That, and I don't think that Will Arnett is as funny as some people think he is.

Buster.

I dare say the Capellan Confederation/evil thread has pretty much forever exposed the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the "no they're not!" position for all time; it may be a worse defeat for them than the Fourth War. M. Mecha-Anchovy effectively articulated concepts I only felt. Glorious!

I think it's part of the point that he's a tool. Almost every Bluth is.

I really like Will Arnett, with some caveats. I thought his recurring role on 30 Rock was phenomenal.

There is a great deal of willful intellectual dishonesty required of me to uphold the CC's political system in a serious debate.  I don't get why they argue the point; I took great pride in being the bad guy as a Capellan.  AH, screw it.  I'm in space and space is the place.

Yeah, I have no problem with playing the bad guys in a game; it's a game. And I guess if you swing that way, there's nothing wrong with getting all Method Acting about it. But some of the people in there are making colossal fools of themselves.

I abandoned that one fairly early.

LF got a special honor on page 1 of the roll call thread.

But seriously, if you dislike seeing people make fools of themselves, whatever are you doing on the Internet?

Mecha-Anchovy?  There were clear moments where his statements were veiled moments of labeling and name-calling.

Yeah, I have no problem with playing the bad guys in a game; it's a game. And I guess if you swing that way, there's nothing wrong with getting all Method Acting about it. But some of the people in there are making colossal fools of themselves.

Call me twisted, but association with the CC for me as a player has nothing to do with intelligently "shopping" for factions, and it also doesn't have anything to do with justifying a cause.  The Confederation and its situation just get my blood pumping and raring for a fight, and that's what I like.  I just spew words on a thread because it's part of defending what I like.

So don't make a fool of yourself trying to rationalize it as somehow a nice place, or even benevolent, and play your heart out on the tabletop.

I strongly disagree with Will on the Confederation (and many other things, I'm sure) but he was always very pleasant to me personally.

It's not enough, though.  They're just metal miniatures and pieces of paper and dice.  I have a need to vent my teenage angst on people I deem in need of it, and the Internet is a safe place to do it.

Ah.

You know, education in the US is looking rather Capellan nowadays: take a test, place into your caste; if you want into another caste, pay for it yourself and good luck getting placed.

Also, in one respect at least, we Draconians are superior to Capellans and Federales both: we don't need to work up any feelings of indignation before crossing a border to beat down an enemy.  Sir Edmund Hillary's reason is reason enough for us.

That's not what I meant by "nowhere".  I'm not ******.  I just had no idea what I wanted to do for a career, even -after- I got into a good school.

No. But so what? If, at the time you thought it worthwhile, it wasn't wasted. If you live your life trying to avoid second guessing yourself you'll never go anywhere.

There wasn't so much money wasted as there was...potential.  A few years ago, I used the words "could have" a lot.  Something to do with being unsatisfied with past childhood.

It's obviously not the case now, seeing as I am fairly happily employed now, but the doom-and-gloom feelings come back every once in a while and don't go away for at least half a day.
