I've never been to Minnesota, as it is Vikings territory, so remain unaware of the bug situation.

Does anyone know if there's a word for a constant state of fatigue and exasperation? I think that's how I'm feeling today.
My life.
My car and my house's main AC both died sunday.  $1150 (incl. a loan from my parents) and an unexcused work absence later...
Good news is the new mechanic was able to diagnose half the damage to my car as being caused by the former mechanics.  As in, when they changed my oil, they cross-threaded the drain plug so it would leak, and eventually fall out causing another repair they could fix.  Angry doesn't begin to cover what I'm feeling just now.

Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence. But I can understand the root of your anger with the situation.

I prefer "blue funk" although Churchill referred to this (in his case depression) as "the black dog"

Alas, I will now not be going to GenCon. (That's bad!)
However, I will be going on a honeymoon instead (that's good!)
It will be in Saint Paul Minnesota (JESUS CHRIST)

wow, you lucky thing, I had to endure my honeymoon being in Barbados...

He'll just need quite a bit of bug spray, but not as much in St. Paul.

*sigh* I just told MDM last night that everyone was dropping out at the last minute. That makes it nearly unanimous.

As the guy doing a lot of the Periphery stuff these days, I don't have much bad to say about the youngest member of the fringe.

This makes me happy. They have a lot of room to become an interesting realm. A lot of what we love about the Sun's without a lot of the baggage.

As a fan of a realm in the Periphery(MH) and of realms that split off from other realms(FWL), I too plan to keep an eye on Filtvelt. They have a lot of potential there.

Unfortunately, that potential is severely diminshed by the 3130s as FC shrinks from the 23 worlds at is inception to the 7 of the DA period.

I am interested it seeing how the "reconquista" plays out. I'm guessing more of a "this isn't all ponies and rainbows, were heading back" then armed intervention but who knows? And seven worlds still isn't the worst, how many do the Space Romans have, before their conquests of the Ilyians?

Haven't you seen the Three Kings?  Baggage simply doesn't have the thread count and tensile strength you're looking for.  Steel shipping containers are where it's at.

I know I only ever seem to post in this thread to bemoan my life...

My room mate.  My best friend of 20 years.  Greg died tonight.
I was at work, when a coworker ran up to me, she had a text that there were fire trucks at my house.  If only.  I ran home, found the dogs locked up, cars here and no one in the house.  I called public safety, who confirmed a ambulance call.
He was gone before I made it to the hospital.  As I was getting out of my car, two friends that were there came out to meet me with the news.
His parents have been notified, and they are on the way down.  (Not sure if they were in Chicago or the QC).  His friends have been called or are being called.
I tried to go back to work.  A supervisor, one I usually consider somewhat hard to get along with asked "what are you doing here?" when I told him what happened.
Now, I'm sitting here, keeping busy to keep from completely losing it.  And to keep from dwelling on whether or not I could have said or done anything differently so my friend would still be here.
