Thumpers, 3rd MAC and Zeta Btn are correct: assaults rule.

The SoL flat red bores me, and so they get my unwanted and unloved Mechs.

No offense to the artist, but that is quite possibly the most hideous shade of yellow I've ever laid eyes upon.

It looks a lot like green to me...

The art is good and the design is fine, but the mini is a bit squat. It's always been of the opinion that fast 'Mechs should look fast.

Well, sure, we'd ALL prefer to field Mediums if we had the chance.

Except maybe Edward.

But if you've GOT to take Lights.....

And how can you NOT call the Wolfhound Fuggly? It looks like it came straight out of an early 80s video game, before they had developed the technology to handle curved lines!!!

GOT to take lights?  What the hell sort of Battletech do you people play? :P

The WLF is fantastic looking to me.  Its the curved Mechs that I dislike, by and large.  I like my mechs properly slab-sided.

I have a hard time trusting a Thud that doesn't have triple mediums and an arm-mounted BFG. The 60-RLA is a mockery meant only for those who would mock a weeping child.

To be fair, the child was weeping *because* of the mockery. There were no tears when it started.

I balance by BV, and that's what I meant by cheap(at least, I hope it is). I don't think I've ever done anything with C-Bills, aside from the rules for incorporating support vees into Chaos Campaign.

I can see that.  My balance tends to come down to fiddling with it, nudging this, removing that, until the forces are about equal, but that's usually in MegaMek, where minor problems like miniature availability, looking things up, the other players getting frustrated and impatient (when Chanman's not helping do it himself, anyway), and other trifles aren't an issue.

Really, the Wolfhound is a passing fair 'Mech. And yes, in the Introductory ruleset, it's pretty darn good. But Battletech is not about just oldschool Level 1, unless you want to go back to whining about DHS. And on the modern battlefield, the modern WLF just doesn't cut it.

It gets the job done for me fairly decently.  Of course, until recently, I was looking at throwing a WLF-1 into a mixed Level 1/Level 2 battlefield where it replaced a Commando mainly by being tougher and more likely to be salvageable.

They look like an extreme limeade commercial come to life. Not IK's best work.

It kind of reminds me of those godawful green buses, the ones they made because School Bus Yellow wasn't visible enough.

I use BV2 to balance, but I also keep track of headcappers on each side and total tonnage and armor factor, as those can skew the result if you don't pay attention. The guys who run events at GenCon track those as well as, IIRC, ECM and jumping, and maybe some other stuff too, which is a smart play.

In other news, I have STILL not made any headway with regards to the guy who hit my car.

Everyone I talk to claims they're not liable - and I'm still out a car. *grumblemutter*

That sucks, man.

Changing gears, do you want to tell the story of how you CRUSHED a child and made him cry as you trampled his dreams, MDM, or may I?

Wow. That Atlas looks like one of those hi-vis fire trucks from the late 80s. If I do a lance of them up, I'll stick with a shade of paint with the word 'yellow" in it. Though it will still be way crappier then IKs work.

I chose the WLF-2 because, well, I like it. It's as close to a Panther as I could chose while playing AFFS. The -2 was really a solid design up until the early 3060s, but yes, is now dated.

The Garm I like because everybody says it sucks. It's like a mini-Centurion. I actually like the -B version with the Large Laser better, but all will do. I just have no luck with Plasma Cannons.
Again, I chose what I did because I was in a hurry and those were the first designs that popped in my head. If we do this again, I will have a lance of well-thought out, wholly Davion mechs.

MDM, I had an S-10 totalled by a private snowplow like 9 years ago. There were enough parts left over that I was able to determine it was a late 80's Custom Deluxe K series. The cop took all parts and went on his way. I then found the culprit a few weeks later, called the cops and they did...nothing. Except write me a parking ticket.  I only had liability insurance on it, so I was out of a car for a few months. Nothing like being 20 and getting dropped off at work and school by your mom...
I hope the Police and insurance company can get to the bottom of everything for you!

I fell off the Earth for a bit, not that i believe I was missed (like missing the pepper on Chicken Alfredo, it's a very subtle loss).

Kimberly, the mother of my children has been frighteningly ill, with some sort of rapid-onset bacterial infection.  She's on two different targeted antibiotics, and will be taken to the ER if there's not a notable improvement in the next 12 hours for emergency surgery.

If i come off as off for a bit, that's why.  I was over at her place for the last 4 days or so, keeping the wheels on the cart.

I hope she recovers quickly from the antibiotics and that surgery is not needed Liofan. My thoughts are with you also.

As for the CBT houswarming party Ed, I have already been planning for one, but first I need to close on the house and then move into it first.
