I believe I know who that is.  I need to return to DC immediately, been in the South too long. :(
My wife had the same reaction without the Merle Haggert mention.

'Oh, you're from Scotland?!  My family's from Scotland County!'  That's after the guessing game(English, Irish, etc) I get when speaking to strangers.

What's wrong with the South other than the heat, the humidity, and a lot of the people?

Like most places, Jacksonville, NC must be experienced to be understood.  I saw that having spent eleven years of my life there over four tours of duty (well three of mine and one of my Dad's).
My half-Siberian Husky approves of that comment.
Speaking of my Dad, he's random boxes of mine that I'm certain have portions of two Malemutes in them.

Blah, I like Merle. And country music. We're in Chicago to see the Cubs tonight. Found out after we git here I'm on call. Mea culpa... Had to 'put' Mom in the Hospital as a cover story...

And I'm certain ATL is very pleasant...much like anywhere other than J-ville, NC.  The South's only sin in my eyes is that J-ville, NC is in it.

DC has worse humidity than my part of NC(built on a swamp), its just as hot and the rest of the country sends their ugly peopletourists and idiotspoliticians.  Yet somehow, the South is worse.

The "we" in the previous statement is clearly not the Nats who are losing 4-0 to Arizona at the moment.

Man I forgot! You should've called, I had to work late, we could have done dinner...you know, if you wanted to drive into the Loop for no good reason.

We rode the train. Then walked. Then rode a train in the tunnel. I have no idea how we got here, or really 'where' we are. Other then Wrigley.

In that case, you were almost certainly right by me, as I work a mile from both Union and Ogilvy Metra stations.

Ogilvy confused me.  I stepped in and thought, "Where's the train station?  On the other side of the shopping mall?"

It certainly feels less like a train station than any of the other major terminuses (terminii?) I've been in. Of course, Union feels like Minos's labyrinth, so of the two I prefer Ogilvy.

I never thought of Daedelus' creation operating in three dimensions, but it makes sense, yes.

Nothing wrong with Southern rock or the blues.  Even country has some decent songs.

Okay, how's this?

NGA-3B Naginata
PXH-7K Phoenix Hawk
HTM-27T Hatamoto-Chi
MAL-C Mauler

CP-11-C Cyclops
NDA-2KC No-Dachi
GHR-6K Grasshopper
CRB-C Crab

DRG-9KC Grand Dragon
HM-2 Hitman
OW-1 Owens
TLN-5Z Talon

A C3 company. I worry that it's too light on firepower and too heavy on spotters.

Needs a Gunslinger C3M.  Could use a similar mech to the GRH, that tough, hard to kill bastard that gets right in their face and spots when the small fry can't.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to find out my cat sheds more than her bodyweight every year.

Over a year, sure, but this is several times each week.

Listening to sarcasmo describe the joys of urban life alongside the complaints against Southern rural life is fairly entertaining.
