Round 1 through the dealer's hall was a success, though the scarcity of faction die meant that they started the con without any Federated Suns ones. :(

Still, I got Leviathans, the new books available at the con, an Omega, and also the Clans Wolf and Jade Falcon sourcebooks for $8 each.  Pretty pleased with the haul so far, just dropping stuff off in my room now before I head back down.

That Omega is a big beast. better ship it here for safe keeping so it doesn't overload your luggage limit

Today I had the inmense pleasure and honor to meet Foxbat. A notorius gentlemen and winner, he took me and made me a tour to the wonderful city of Bordeaux. And tomorrow more fun. A real pleasure.

@Weirdo: The TSR Castle used to be the center piece of the Gen Con floor - back when it was still in Milwaukee and TSR was extant.  I'm told from those who have attended more recently than I (my one trip was almost 20 years ago now - boy do I feel old) that WotC kept it around for a long time.  But that eventually they decided they didn't want to pay for that much floor space, or some such.

I did tend to ignore the WotC booth, and very oblivious, so it's very possible that I simply wlkaed right past it each time.

If you're a Star Wars fan, especially if you like the X-Wing series, do yourself a favor, buy X-Wing: Mercy Kill.  I laughed, I cried, I almost started believing things I knew couldn't be, oh man.  Probably Allston's best work yet.

As I just said elsewhere, looking forward to it.  I've always enjoyed his work, SW or otherwise.

While this GC was shaping up to be my least expensive yet, the need to switch rooms massively increased the cost. Like, wow. And to think I didn't even get a dinner out of the deal!

Had a great time last night with Mr. and Mrs. SciFiToughGuy. Great to see them again after five years. Aside from Mrs. SFTG having much longer hair, and SFTG's being perhaps thinner, they look exactly the same. Two of the best people I am privileged to know.
