page 162 Interstellar Operations.
"A superheavy gyro weighs as much as a heavy-duty gyro
of equal capacity, and thus can be calculated by dividing the ’Mech’s
Engine Rating by 50 (and rounding up to the nearest whole number)."

This line gives 2 methods of calculating a super heavy mech's gyro.

Engine Rating / 50 rounded up to the nearest ton.

And

Engine rating/100 Rounded up to the nearest ton x 2  (Techmanual page 50)

Now let us assume a 175ton mech with a movement rating of 2/3.  This gives an engine rating of 350.
350/50 = 7 tons.
350/100 = 3.5 round up to 4.  4x2 = 8 tons.

Which method is intended?

It's supposed to be engine/100 (rounded up) ×2, as per TechManual.  The engine/50 formula was apparently made up for this passage as a quick (incorrect) shortcut.
