Title: (Answered) Are some aero parts free?
Post by: Taharqa on 07 June 2011, 23:15:52
I am trying to compare the costs and availability table on pg. 283 of the TechManual to the master repair table starting on pg. 183 of StratOps in order to determine how much new parts cost (for stockpiling). The problem is that the two tables don't line up very well. Avionics is listed as a part that can be repaired and replaced (which makes sense because it can be critted) but only conventional fighters list avionics under their Controls. Similarly, FCS can be repaired and replaced, but only dropships/small craft list Fire Control Computer under Controls. Sensors can be repaired and replaced, but are not listed for conventional fighters, despite the fact that they can be critted on conventional fighters.

So are these things free or what?

You have correctly identified a deficiency in costs.  This will be resolved as a Strategic Operations errata item; we do not have an answer at this time.  Our apologies for the inconvenience.

EDIT: Addressed at long last in the new SO errata.
