Thank you!

With only 1 per quarter this would stretch the time period to the end of 2021.
Again, that's just a guess based on the current releases. The length of time needed to roll out the sculpts kind of lends credence to my theory. Why would CGL's plastics delay IWM's metal schedule when it'll take that long anyway? Also, TPTB have stated there are no current plans to make 3055 nuSeen artwork... same with LAMs.

Why would CGL's plastics delay IWM's metal schedule when it'll take that long anyway?

CGL is paying for the new art and the new 3d designs, so it's up to them when IWM can make metals.  CGL may not want IWM getting first dibs at all of the new Classics, thus holding up IWM.  But that's all supposition, we're not going to know anything except when they are released.

Well, looks like we will all be waiting for some time then. CGL seems to be facing a myriad of problems  :-\

Well, looks like we will all be waiting for some time then. CGL seems to be facing a myriad of problems  :-\

IWM produces it's own miniatures and always has the ability to make them.  CGL has to find a manufacturing solution that works, and seemingly starting over from scratch each time they do a batch.  Leading to, presumably, wanting to do all of them at once, not just one, two or even four at a time.

But yes, I'm impatient too.  *throws money at screen?*

True. CGL could also have merely insisted that the "best" be saved for last, giving them time to get plastics rolling out the door before IWM has all of them in metal. I have no idea of the current sales figures, but from what I've seen on the forums, they'll have no problem selling plastics even if IWM has everything out in metal. Of course, they have to sell a significant quantity more than is necessary for their metal counterparts to break even.

Which is why the discussion has shifted around on the Alpha Strike starter box (dropped) and is more focusing on the 'new' Intro Box set up.  The link provided is not really an answer on other things being released, just that we have the Wasp coming up.

He was just providing an answer to my previous question. I had trouble finding the actual announcement and it isn't up on IWM's site yet.

Sorry I saw it as a reply to when any of the classics would be released.

Hey guys, I've been away from the hobby for a few years now and despite the new set just releasing there still doesnt seem to be any further movement on the whammy or Mad, can someone fill me in on whats going on?

Seems there have been no further combat manuals released after kurita either.

You are correct on all counts. The Combat Manual series has been cancelled(or at least put on hold for the foreseeable future).

You know everything the rest of us know regarding Warhammer and Marauder miniseries, there is no news.

Damn, I was hoping that some official word or reason for withholding the pretties had been given while I was away.

The cancellation of the combat manuals is unpleasant news, the first two were top quality. Has Alpha Strike as a whole taken a downturn? Seems to be almost impossible to get a physical copy of the rules now too.

Regarding the Warhammer & Marauder, you can find topics discussing the lawsuit and theories about its impact.  No reason to go over that again in yet another thread.

I know they are reprinting some rulebooks but since I do not follow Alpha Strike ask in that forum for perhaps better answers.  We have gotten and had another announced, books that will move the universe's story forward.  I find that more than acceptable than yet another book recovering material already given- for the CMs, set at the beginning of the Invasion era that will be the 3rd time its been covered.  I say this as someone who bought CM Mercs.

The new Alpha Strike rulebook has been delayed, but it’s still planned/in the works.
