  • There you are!
The suit walks up the mech like Inspector Gadget with suction cup feet, gets in place, turns about to be "facing" down, then bends the BA's "knees" so it is facing forward looking in the same direction as the mech (if on a LT/RT)

Though I admit this might be awkward at first and take some training to get used to, I imagine a lot of things in BA training are like that. How they manage it in 15 seconds is more interesting

Tried the Marauder BA in April, and I am very impressed with it. I used two squads to protect a Icarus II that took a head hit and went nite nite. They where able to maul a Buccaneer forcing it to retreat (well try my Gladiator finshed it).

They are painfully slow, and once my opponet found that out he wiped out their transports in order to keep them in place.

Ugly  yes, Slow yes, But they pack a punch. O0

I was under the impression that this was one of the "new" units created by Catalyst for the TRO:3145 series. (I haven't seen it listed on Warrenborn.)
The Marauder BA is a new unit by CGL. The only Marauder units in DA were the Marauder II and Marauder IIC

It needs to be a raiding force so they can be said to be...marauding.

The pilots would of all of the above would also be marauders. So you'd have marauders in Marauders wearing marauders wearing Marauders, waiting inside Marauder to go marauding.

The unit name? A reborn Millers Marauders....  :P

Hmm maybe i am getting too old. I could sworn there was a Clicky BA Marauder back in the day.  I wasn't able to find one.

Marauder's Marauders. Under the command of Giovanni Marauder, of course. :)

From the art it looks to me like the magnets are on the knees and "elbows" below the AP weapons.

Would this formation be the armored infantry component of Barber's Marauder IIs?

I must say, I really like this suit (especially it being a Marian design)...and am envious that I did not come up with it first...

I used a squad of Marauders for the first time on Saturday.  While I didn't get their full potential due to my own inexperience with placing BA, I was quite impressed by how much damage they were able to dish out when they finally managed to get within range of an enemy mech.  Those support PPCs really did a number on a damage Black Hawk KU on the enemy team, scoring multiple crits, including two engine hits on a turn that it had made a jumping alpha strike.

A lot of suits are like that. Folks see the middling damage a single suit can put out and don't expect much, but forget this damage goes up FAST when a full squad cuts loose. In Battletech, infantry(both conventional and battlesuited) are the very definition of "Apes together strong".

Were you running standard 4-trooper squads, or Marian groups of five?

Four.  It was a FedSuns w/ mercenary support vs Combine scenario loosely based on Dominions Divided.

If you were a Marian commander, what would you use to deploy Marauder Battle Armor to a location?  Mechs, tanks, or aircraft?

Aircraft can't transport BA externally, so probably mechs.

My preference is usually for Heavy APCs or Karnovs(using zip lines). I should try a paradrop using Planetlifters or a Small Craft sometime.

Hover APCs. Backed up by some Testudos- the Tag on the Marauders make them very good friends.....
