Quote
INVADERS FROM BEYOND

On 27 September 3048, the ComStar Explorer Corps JumpShip Outbound Light stumbled onto the Clan Homeworlds, setting in motion a massive invasion of the Inner Sphere by the Clans. At first sweeping all before them with their advanced technologies, the Clans met defeat at the Battle of Tukayyid and were stymied by a 15-year truce. With the clock ticking, the Inner Sphere’s elite took the battle directly to the Clan Homeworlds. There, the destruction of Clan Smoke Jaguar and the defeat of the Clans in the Great Refusal ended the invasion.

In their absence, political machinations continued across the Inner Sphere. As the victorious forces returned home, the mighty Federated Commonwealth tore itself apart in a titanic Civil War spanning a thousand light years as Houses Davion and Steiner pitted brother against sister. These large-scale conflicts accelerated technical advancements, as a new generation of BattleMechs and weapons appeared on a hundred worlds of conflict.

Technical Readout: Clan Invasion builds on Technical Readout: Succession Wars with ’Mechs previously found in Technical Readout: 3050 Upgrade, Technical Readout: 3055 Upgrade, Technical Readout: 3058 Upgrade, Technical Readout: 3060, and Technical Readout: 3067. This volume features some of the most common ’Mechs from the Clan Invasion and Civil War Eras, each illustrated in detail and accompanied by a description of its history, capabilities, and game stats, along with their most famous pilots.

Tis good, but I hope a redux version gets released in 2020 with the new art, it gives you a good rundown of all the available Mechs of the era, but yeaaaaah, the art styles going between the re-done 3050 Clan Mechs, then Loose's aged art, to the attempts to fix the 3050 redone IS Mechs and so on.  Good book but a redux, with the Kickstarter art and future re-designs would be nice.

Doubt a redux for this or succession wars is in the cards. A good portion of both wouldn’t have new art so you’d be in for another $40-80 for less of the same problem. Colt’s idea of a tour de classics TRO I think would be more likely.

A TRO: Kickstarter with the new art and (I’m not going to drop this until it happens) a narrator from 3250 would be on a lot of people’s to but buy list I think

Does the PDF come with the record sheets?  I know that's happened with some books, but I don't know if it's standard or not.

TRO:SW didn't come with record sheets either.  There is a PDF for Record Sheets: Succession Wars, so I expect we'll see RS: CI soon-ish.

Is there a mention in either TRO:SW or TRO:CI about official record sheets being available from the CGL store?  If not, that seems like an oversight.

RSSW came out some 6 months after the TRO proper. Not exactly "soonish".

♫One of these things is not like the others. Which one is different, do you know?♫

3039 on the left through clan invasion on the right. just a little thing. they began doing it with the fiction starting with nellus academy, embers of war, and betrayal of ideals (with the MWO atlas skull), then shifting to the one you see at the far right.

house arano doesn't have a beemer or atlas icon, staying true to the 3025 housebook aesthetic, but i imagine all books going forward will have it.

Emphasis on the "ish." But yes, I intend to remind management about doing an RS:CI once the KS is done, and hope to see it on a shorter turnaround than the RS:SW. But, it's ultimately not in my power to execute.

In the case of the latter, it maybe is. For TRO:SW, I don't know whether it was expected or planned that there would be an RS:SW at the time the book was printed.

Hopefully. That ain't what a Beemer looks like at the moment, don'cha know.

I imagine neither mentions record sheets because at the time of printing in both cases they had no idea how long it would be getting them up

this TRO was a waste.  you have BattleMechs that were produced well after 3050 in the TRO from the Inner Shere making it seem that these units were available to be used against the Clan onslaught.

It isn’t TR 3050, nor 3050-3052.  No more than a readout for World War II would only list units in existence in 1939.

Clan Invasion is the era/war, not just 3050.

The Rock to Task Force Serpent returning from the Great Refusal (or Lethal Heritage through Prince of Havoc if you tell time by the novels). The Clan Invasion has been periodized as 3050-3061 for a decade now

In hindsight, it might have been smart to divide the 'Mechs into three sections (Invasion, The Line, New Star League).

I do wonder how much the average new player will care.   I know I didn't when I started.  I just wanted big stompy mechs. What year the battle took place never even entered my mind.

This is STILL not at any of the 3 distributors I use! Is there a reason stock has not shipped out to distribution? I've got confirmation from Catalyst that stock has been sitting at PSI for months now...but no movement.

I'm starting to wonder myself about this.  The thread says new release, but I've never seen it anywhere (online or in stores).

A couple of the online retailers I've used list is as a pre-order.

Does anyone actually have it?
