I'm binge watching a Brit comedy called "Gary: Tank Commander." Getting past the Scottish accent is the hardest, but there arefunny bits

For our Brits out there (and anyone a fan of old school Brit comedies)...  There's a new film called Dad's Army in a very Homage vein to the old 70s tv show "dad's army"...
Has a very good cast and was nicely done.

Been trying to get caught up on all the movies I missed in the theaters so I just watched Interstellar the other night.  It was actually quite enjoyable, although I'm still not a fan of McConaughey.  It was interesting how much actually relatively accurate science they fit into the movie.

Also finally got around to Jurassic World.  It was every bit as corny as I expected, but the special effects and action scenes were exciting and overall it was fun enough to watch.  I did think the actual finale was rather groan worthy.  A deus ex oceanus you might say.   ;D

It is fine JP tradition for the antagonistic predator to get eaten by a bigger predator.

Well, after doing my DVD collection type up i have 760 films on 657 disks..  I am getting rid of 25 disks/28 films (mostly B rate, and a few that Neither me nor my mother care to watch again), and will be getting around a dozen new ones (some were films i used to own but never updated to DVD)..  Some of those new ones are older films, like Sleepers with Slater and pitt, Kuffs with Slater, and a few others..

After I heard the sad news earlier, I went to the next showing of Rogue One to watch it again.  Now I'm starting A New Hope.

Yesterday, Rogue One - loved it. For me it's the best Star Wars movie since the '80s

Today, Passengers - again, loved it. A much slower pace, but a very enjoyable story.

Slightly off topic...anyone else have a DVD of "Raid on Entebbe"?

I have one and the quality is much worse than even the youtube rip (which isn't even the whole movie) and it doubles a scene on the DVD (scene plays twice). Does anyone else have a copy? Is it better? Who made yours? When was it released? If I know that, I will be able to source a better one.

This movie is a huge favourite of mine, but it feels a bit too much like an over-used reel-to-reel slaving through the afternoon movie.
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

Watched the Live Action/CGI "Jungle Book" last week. With the exception of Bill Murray as Baloo, the voices fit the characters very well.

Ben Kingley was perfect as Bagheera, and, while unexpected, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa was good.

Bill Murray was Baloo the bear (supposedly a sloth bear but he actually looked like a Himalayan brown bear).

But who noticed that Chris Walken's character had more cowbell?

I wanted to try a find a copy of the old 1970s West German film, Superbug.  It was about a Volkwagon Beetle that was loaded with gadgets.  It was very silly and campy, but it was musing to watch.
