Liao Raid on Saffel
« on: 15 January 2025, 11:47:56 »
TRO:3025 says that Liao forces attacked the planet Saffel in 2978. Though it is true there is no place saying otherwise, Saffel is one jump post Dieron near the Federated Suns side.

Does it make sense to understand that the raid is against House Davion and that they have a few Lucifers?

It's possible. More likely it was Draconis Combine forces. We don't know for sure. The mid-late 2900s were a weird time and we have some indication that the borders changed a lot, despite the fact that the pre- and post-3rd SW maps look about the same. There is no 2978 map to assess the situation.

We don't know what happened in that battle, or if it ever made it past the space battle. Could have been against the Kuritans, Davions, or even a three way battle. It also notes that they crossed into Lyran space. Did they cross *through* Lyran space to get there, or at that moment, did the Lyrans control Saffel or were they engaged there?

FS, DC, and LC all have Lucifers.
