Aerospace Control Rolls
« on: 12 March 2018, 01:07:29 »
In an aerospace engagement, if one of the fighters fails it's control roll it falls inward one zone, but fighters in combat are not allowed to change zones, so does the failed control roll simply not do anything, or does the fighter fall inward and their opponent have to follow, or does the failed control roll carry over to the next combat round, giving their opponent a tail shot?

Failing a control roll and subsequently falling a zone further on the radar map automatically ends an engagement.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

Only control rolls due to damage can cause the "falling", it has nothing to do with the engagement roll and doesn't affect the engagement roll (next turn or otherwise).
As Scotty said, failing the damage control roll and falling inward automatically breaks any engagement, p61 Aerospace damage.
