We did a 350 Beta PV game with two companies (some IBS with AoW) units. The Rule of 12 total wiped the weapons off a Spider on turn 1, first shot fired. Ironically, that mech became the MVP.

Bereft of guns, the Spider rushed to the other side to snag an objective and sprinted back home to only get dog piled in the  middle of "Central Park." A bit of lucky dice rolls and some physical combat and he still limped out to win the game. We joked that we had some how gotten into a game of Blood Bowl.

Some random pics of the game below. Quck note: The "hills" were forest zones with the number of trees representing terrain modifiers.

"New players, regardless of age, need to know two things about a wargame. How to blow stuff up and what faction is painted in his favorite color. All the rest can come later when they are hooked." -- A.G.
"But the problem is that it seems to have been made by someone who equates complication with complexity, and that just ain't so." -- iamfanboy
