Clans and Star League question, possible spoiler

So , I was reading the Successors Wars TRO preface, and it is written to an IKhan by a clan member, and in a couple of place in the text it looks like there is a new Star League in place. Finally, at the bottom, it is signed "3250 - Star League archivist or historian, Name Name" ( I'm on my way to work and do not have the book in front of me right now, I forgot the exact line, but the signature seems to say that the clan member who wrote the preface is in Star League)

Does this mean the clans formed the new Star League by 3250 or am I misreading something ?

They have formed something they call the star league. Who actually belongs by choice or force is another thing entirely.

Whether we’ll ever get substantive details about the 33rd century is yet to be seen. As for now they’re taunting us.

i want to believe it's just the original terran alliance from the Demarcation Declaration of 2242 and the ilkhan just shouts at everyone that he's the boss now.

The entire goal of the invasion and the ilclan thing was to 'ressurect the star league', at least in a clan form.
We know an ilclan will exist, so said clan probably declares the existence of a new star league.
Whether said league actually has anything in common with the original is unknown (but probably unlikely), nor do we know whether anyone else in the IS actually recognizes the ilclan as having any authority

It looks like we're gearing up for a gladiatorial insurrection and all the old mechs we know and love will be on that side.  Should be fun!  And a refreshing break from neverending succession wars.
