That's not exactly new, really, but it IS a pretty great thing to learn about.

If you want to up your miniature and diorama game, you should browse model train communities.  There are tons of neat techniques that can be transfered to this hobby, and is, as far as I can tell, where the static grass applicator thing comes from.
