Sorry everyone, my eyes homes in on the 250th Battlemech Division when I was checking who replaced the 472nd Division. I have corrected the previous posts and placed the correct 278th Division in the storyline. My bad everyone.

Hey I don't know how you manage to keep it correct, you are juggling every unit in the whole Inner Sphere, Clans and other assorted regions plus butterflies the size of dragons. :)

Really liking the story and appreciate the effort you are putting in to balance the economic impacts as well as the battles.

 25 June 3064
         Illyria

A day before the invasion force reached orbit, after repeated attempts to contact the incoming Dropships were ignored, a cloud of SLDF Aerospace fighters rose to greet them. As a SLDF Division, the 278th was fully equipped with 2 old school SLDF Aerospace Wings of 54 each. Caesar Julius O'Reilly's invasion force was escorted by the Marion Hegemony's 2 Patrol Corvette's, their 12 Aerospace fighters, II, III Legio's Aerospace Cohorts and IV Legio's Aerospace Manible.

The invasion forces 82 Aerospace fighters and the SLDF's 108 Aerospace fighters slammed into each other. The SLDF quickly got the upper hand on the Marian Aerospace Fighters and their superior numbers and superior skill rapidly chewed up the escorting Marian fighter force. A full wing of 18 Hammerheads was designated to go after Dropships. Each Squadron of 6 Hammerheads selected a different Dropship and went to work. Their AC/20's ripping huge chunks from each selected Dropship. A Union from the III Legio was savaged in by the Hammerhead squadron, followed by a Mule cargo dropship being destroyed and a Triumph from IV Legio was destroyed.

But the massed fire from the Dropship fleet hammered the attacking SLDF fighters. Of the 18 Hammerheads that entered the Dropship swarm, only 7 made it out to head for repairs and rearmament. Of the 108 SLDF fighters that entered battle, 33 returned to base, 22 Marian fighters managed to survive.

 26 June 3064

The Marian invasion force made their landings unopposed, General Karen had ordered his 278th Division into defensive positions. Only 85km from the enemy landing zone, the first hasty attack by the Lone Star Regiment was thrown back easily. Caesar Julius O'Reilly decided to mass his troops for the next assault.

  28 June 3064
     Reykavis

When General Karen knew the identity of his attackers, he sent a HPG message to Terra informing them that the attackers had been identified as being from the Marian Hegemony. This information was relayed by the awaiting HPG Relay ship to the SLDF's first responding unit, Clan Nova Cat's 100th Striker Cluster. Also in the message was information that the invasion force was escorted by the Marian Hegemony's 2 Patrol Corvettes.

Star Colonel Evelyn Morris, commander of the 100th Striker Cluster, wanted to help the 278th Division, but knew to attempt to make the planet with warships there would see her command destroyed. But, that meant there were Marian planets in the invasion forces rear that could be hit instead. And they did not have warships to protect them. Consulting a Star Chart, Star Colonel Evelyn Morris selected Lothario as her target. She would await for the HPG Relay ship to recharge it's LF batteries fully before making the double jump. Maybe she could pull some of the Marian invaders off the 278th Division with this deep strike.

  Marantha

Star Colonel Bel, commander of the 12th Nova Cat Regulars had received the information about the Marian Hegemony being identified as the attackers upon the SLDF. His Cluster was awaiting the return of the HPG Relay ships that had carried the 100th Striker Cluster ahead of his Cluster.

  Segerica

Khan Phelan Kell had loaded as much of Beta Galaxy as he could aboard Clan Nova Cat's 3 Aegis Cruisers on loan to him. It was a tight fit, but he had:

NCS Chronicle, Aegis Cruiser- 13th Wolf Guards 3 Overlord Dropships, Wolf Spider Keshik 1 Union C
NCS Principle, Aegis Cruiser- 6th Wolf Guards 1 Overlord C, 2nd Wolf Strike Grenadiers 3 Overlord Dropships
NCS Remembrance, Aegis Cruiser- 2nd Wolf Legion 4 Union C

He had been forced to leave the 16th Wolf Guards Battle Cluster on Ward. The Nova Cat naval commander, Star Admiral Lacey Bavros was pushing her warships to the limit. Double jumping was risky at the best of times, but the 278th needed help as soon as they could. They were still a long ways away though.

 Terra

Word that the Marian Hegemony was the attacker caused First Lord Candace Liao to break a tooth she clenched her jaw so tight. Filling the air with curses, she relayed the information to Archon Prince Victor Steiner Davion, who had returned to New Avalon, with a black eye given to him by Katherine Steiner Davion, Khan West and Kai on Sian.

 Gambilon

Prefect Josef Vasicek, commander of the V Legio had managed to link up with the Star Leagues command circuit to the Magistracy of Canopus and were currently awaiting promised Marian Hegemony transports to pick his V Legio up and bring them home. A HPG Relay ship in the system had passed on the news of the Marian attack on the 278th Division on Illyria.

What the hell was that fool Caesar Julius O'Reilly doing? First he gets the Hegemony tossed out of the Star League and now he is picking a fight with them? Was all Prefect Josef Vasicek could think at the moment. Word was spreading throughout his V Legio of what was transpiring. He was sure he would face a mutiny if he did not take his unit to Alphard and overthrow the Caesar. But could he commit treason? Was it treason to oppose his ruler who was risking his entire nation by his actions?

          Terra

When Candace Liao called for the vote, there was not a single vote against her. "Katherine Steiner Davion has been elected the next First Lord unanimously. I see she did not make the Meeting today, I hope she is okay."

"Katherine was not feeling well this morning First Lord. I will gladly inform her of her new job come January 1 3065." Victor said with a grin

I was right to ask
"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast, And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill, And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"

Interesting the easiest route home for Prefect Josef Vasicek and the V Legio, was into the MoC at Gambilon.  I would stay stay alert to make sure that WOB doesn't cause an accident.  I'm kinda wondering if whoever routed them, could see a good loyal unit and want to have them where they might need to help.

Vasicek is asking himself the right questions, but he REALLY needs to talk it over with someone high up in the SLDF...

They were traveling home with the Taurian Lancers. They just managed to link up with the Star League maintained command circuit to the Magistracy of Canopus. The Star League maintains a command circuit to all Member States capitol worlds back to Terra. Either using Star League jumpships or providing funding to pay to support national jumpships to fill in the gaps.

 1 July 3064
         Illyria

Caesar Julius O'Reilly had allowed time for his forces to be as ready as possible for the full assault on the 278th Division's positions. He had ordered his IV Legio to carefully work their way around the 278th's flanks and when the assault was launched, the IV Legio slashed into the 278th Divisions rear areas and caused massive chaos until being thrown back by the 278th's 2nd Mech Regiment.

On the frontlines, the fighting was fierce but the massed forces of the Marion Hegemony and mercenary units was too much for the 278th Division to contain. After 11 hours of hard fighting, General Karen ordered his Division to break contact as best they could. His 2nd Mech Regiment expended itself throwing the enemy assault back and allowing the rest of the 278th to fall back. Only 2 companies of the 2nd Mech Regiment returned to the 278th's final defensive lines.

  9 July 3064
        Lothario

Star Colonel Evelyn Morris and her 100th Striker Cluster entered the Lothario system on 7 July, today they made their landings after a quick 1.5g flight from the jump point. When the 100th Striker Cluster made their landings only 40km from Vatnajökull, the planetary capitol, they quickly tore apart the defending Secunda Auxilia Lothianesis, (2nd Lothian Auxiliary Legion) after a 2 hour fight, scattering the survivors.

With 2 Trinary of Omni Mechs and a mixed Trinary (Star of Omni Mechs and 2 Stars of Elementals) in her Cluster, Star Colonel Evelyn Morris knew securing the large capitol city would be a difficult chore for her Cluster to accomplish.

  Around the Galaxy

In the Clan Home Worlds, Clan Coyote and Clan Wolf continue to send lower caste and manufacturing facilities to the Occupation Zone in the Inner Sphere. After the first large convoy departed at the end of June, the movement would be slower until the ships of the first convoy returned. Khan Ward and Khan Koga agreed that the next convoy would depart in August and would be made up of mainly Clan Wolf lower caste and Zeta Galaxy of Clan Coyote escorted by CCS Howling, Sovetskii Soyuz Cruiser.

On Ironhold, Khan Marthe Pryde stared at her Clan's Touman displayed on her computer. She had managed to rebuild her battered Touman to the size it was before the AFFC had shattered it. Her Touman numbered 38 Clusters of troops now. What she really wanted to do was return to the Inner Sphere and teach Prince Davion a harsh lesson, but her wants were tempered by not only her own thrashing at his hands but seeing how quickly Clan Smoke Jaguar had been crushed utterly.

On New Kent, Khan Brett Andrews was doing all he could to keep Clan Steel Viper alive. In it's weakened state, it was a tempting target for a Trial of Absorption by another Clan. Though he had managed to rebuild his Touman to 19 Clusters, he knew it would not be enough if a serious attempt was made against his Clan.

On Lum, Khan Lynn Mckenna awaited word on the expidition to the Inner Sphere. She wondered how long the chaos in the Home Worlds would last. Where once, only a few Trials of Possession were attempted, now it seemed like a non stop affair. It was trying her patience.

Clan Cloud Cobra Khan Din Steiner had dispatched her Delta Galaxy and 500,000 lower caste to assist in conquering the Hanseatic League. The thing that concerned her some was that Clan Diamond Shark had halted all advances in the Hanseatic League. Truely they were not content with just the 5 worlds they had conquered.

In the Inner Sphere, changes occured almost monthly. Interstellar shipping and communications were reaching unprecedented levels not seen since the orginal Star League. The Star League was now the largest buyer of civilian Jumpships. But there were plenty to go around, shipyards, once a rare item, now steadily grew as the demand for Jumpships never seemed to slow down. Challenge Systems operation, in conjunction with Jalastar, on Panpour had grown to 30 shipyard slips. Twenty slips built Monolith Jumpships, but the ten newest slips built Merchant Jumpships and Invader Jumpships, evenly split at 5 and 5 yards each.

Mitchell Interstellar Shipping had grown to a fleet of 130 Jumpships, now that Mitchell Aerospace and Shipyards had released most of their civilian Jumpships to Mitchell Interstellar's new Outer March operation. They had 20 Jumpships operating in the Outer March division. Mainly moving colonists and supplies around to the slowly developing worlds.

Mitchell Institute of Space Sciences had grown considerably and now graduated almost 5,000 students every 4 months across the schools various courses. The school's salvage course was now almost completely dominated by AFFC, CCAF, SLDF and even a few from the DCMS students. First they graduated basic training and then were sent to Ole MISS to learn the art of salvage operations before being posted to their respective militaries Yardships and Shipyards.

Clyde Shipyards, once primarily building military dropships for the AFFC, had shifted 80% of their production over to Mitchell Aerospace and Shipyards Steamer Dropship Class. Filling a niche void between the Mule and Mammoth Dropships. Priced at only a hair over 300 Million C-Bills, it was in high demand and easily built in large numbers.

Salvatore Incorperated, once almost broken by the fall of the Star League, with huge numbers of vacant construction hangars, had used the huge construction contracts from the AFFC building Lee and Gremlin Dropships for the AFFC to reactivate and upgrade many of those once idle hangars. Thought the advanced shipyards built the Dropships quicker, the ground hangars added another 100 Dropships built per year to the companies total's. They had sumitted a bid to produce dropships for the SLDF and if accepted, they planned to add an additional 6 shipyards to the 6 they already operated.

Overall, in just the Federated Commonwealth, the advanced shipyards having replaced the older yards almost entirely allowed the Federated Commonwealth to see an almost unheard of economic boom with no end in sight. Where once, only a handful of Jumpships were built in a single year, now hundreds were built.

Jumpship Construction Federated Commonwealth Per Year

 Challenge Systems/Jalastar- 40 Monolith, 20 Merchant, 15 Invader
 Dynamico Limited- 20 Merchant
Universal Air- 30 Invader, 20 Star Lord
 Kathil Shipworks- 15 Invader
Ioto Galactic- 10 Monolith, 10 Invader, 10 Scout
 N&D Shipyards- 10 Scout, 20 Merchant

In addition, the Jumpship construction boon had seen a few companies, once long dead, reborn. Bolson Shipyards had secured loans from the Federated Commonwealth and was building 4 shipyards at New Kyoto to produce Star Lord Jumpships which Challenge Systems had been contracted to assist in developing the facility.

Steiner Aerospace Manufacturing, once a major Aerospace Fighter manufacturer was reborn, with 70% of the stock owned by the Steiner-Davion Trust. They had purchased the large shipyard complex above Donegal from the AFFC and Mitchell Aerospace. They operated the ultra large shipyards for the AFFC as a primary maintenance facility and were constructing 10 shipyards to enter the civilian Jumpship market.

Mitchell Aerospace and Shipyards planned to enter the civilian Jumpship Market from Mackolla and Demeter in January 3065. But they would be offering a very select variety of ships to potential buyers. Their announcement sent shockwaves thru the entire civilian Jumpship market. The first was the new Royalty Jumpship, mounting 4 Dropship collars and a LF Star Lord. The LF Star Lord was expensive and defenseless, but it was meant for use in a purely civilian market for high priority cargo. Mitchell Aerospace meant to target the Star League's command circuit network for the LF Star Lord.

On a more military side, the AFFC, decided that their ability to support more widespread use of Clan spec weapons had reached the point that it could be deployed on a more widespread basis. Debate over the exact models to be fielded was still ongoing. Mitchell Aerospace's Battlemech Division, being the foremost experts on the production of Clan spec equipment and currently the only manufacturer of both Clan Omni Mech designs and Clan spec weapon armed mechs was being brought in to consult with the AFFC on what could be done with certain designs.

In the Magistracy of Canopus, the Magistracy Armed Forces had reached 20 Regiments in size. The massive funding to build the Battlemech factory on Detroit had paid off, allowing the MAF to reactivate several units long ago disbanded. Their friendship with the Word of Blake also paid huge dividends in assisting the Magistracy in upgrading their once limited local manufacturing and also in purchasing new designs from the Free Worlds League. But this came at a yet unknown cost, the WoB had infiltrated the MAF quite heavily.

The Taurian Concordat military also saw a huge boon in the joint venture on Detroit and also with their friendship with the WoB. Where once that friendship was strained, since Grover Shraplen had taken over, a fresh start had seen major upgrades of the Taurian manufacturers and in upgrading the Taurian military to newer designs. Unfortunately, the Taurian military was hopelessly penetrated by the WoB.

Hooray for the Cats working on the Lothian League!

Two things: I think you meant "boom" everywhere auto-correct gave you "boon", and it's "hangar", not "hanger".  Otherwise, excellent update as always!

 20 July 3064
         Illyria

Caesar Julius O'Reilly was furious when he learned of the invasion on Lothario. He had directed IV Legio to return to Lothario along with his 2 Patrol Corvettes and teach the invaders a lesson. His forces here on Illyria had pushed the 278th Division into a small pocket. His forces controlled almost 90% of the planet with the 278th Division blocking access to the last 10% only to their control of the few passes into the hugely mountainous region and it's mining.

What Caesar Julius O'Reilly did not know was that operating in the deep part of the system was a HPG Relay ship that was monitoring the situation. Every SLDF Division had mobile HPG's in their Division Headquarters and the departure of the warships was noted and relayed.

  Landfall

Sitting at Landfall's Nadir Jump Point was a HPG Relay ship along with a FWL Star Lord Jumpship. Attached to the 6 collars of the Star Lord was the complete 274th Battle Cluster of Clan Nova Cat, 1 Overlord C, 1 Union C, 2 Sassanid, 1 Titan Dropship. Attached to the HPG Relay ship was the 12th Nova Cat Regulars Overlord C. They had been brought forward over the last month, partially on Star League Command Circuit, partially by the rerouted HPG Relay network.

Star Colonel Jullamon Lossey, commander of the 274th Battle Cluster, received word of the Marian warships leaving the system of Illyria and gave the order to move. It would be 1 August before they arrived, he just hoped the 278th Division could hold out until then.

Tau Galaxies Vision Keshik (Cluster) was already on the way and so was the 9th Nova Cat Regulars Cluster. Moving 3 Dropships at a time slowed things down, but it was steadily getting better. Kappa Galaxy would be moving soon towards this region of space also. AFFC ships were handing them off to Capellan ships who would be handing them off to FWL ships. It was estimated to have all of Tau Galaxy and Kappa Galaxy in theater by the middle of October.

 Engadin

saKhan Tanya DeLaurel of Clan Hell's Horses could not take the idleness any longer, her 3 Galaxies had spent the last year in the Inner Sphere staring at weakly defended Clan Ghost Bear worlds. Clan Ghost Bear had shifted troops during the Star Leagues war against Clan Smoke Jaguar. But now, before they redeployed forces, now was the time to strike.

She launched 4 of Alpha Galaxy's Cluster at Predlitz, the 11th and 12th Mechanized and 21st and 22nd Mechanized Assault Clusters.

Beta Galaxy would send 3 Clusters to seize Goito, the 666th and 888th Mechanized Assault along with the 333rd Strike.

Gamma Galaxy would strike at Kempten with 2 Clusters, the 45th Mechanized Strike and 87th Mechanized Cavalry.

 26 July 3064
       Predlitz

Clan Hell's Horses Alpha Galaxy leaped into the Zenith Jump Point and burned for the planet 8 days away at 1.5g's. The defending 3rd Claw prepared for battle.

  Goito

Clan Hell's Horses Beta Galaxy arrived at Goito's Nadir Jump Point and a Trinary of Elementals quickly seized the recharge station located there. The invasion headed for the planet 6 days away at 1.5g's. The defending 63rd PGC prepared for battle against an old foe.

  Kempten

Clan Hell's Horses Gamma Galaxy arrived at the Zenith Jump Point and headed for the planet 17 days away at 1g. The defending 73rd Battle Cluster would be ready.

 New Avalon

Duke Scott Mitchell and Craig had been asked to New Avalon to consult with the AFFC on expanding Clan tech in the AFFC ground forces. Now, they sat in Archon Prince Victor Steiner Davion's office with Marshal of the Armies Morgan Hasek Davion. While Scott was quite comfortable, Craig was a little nervous at being here.

"Scott, thanks for coming here. Congratulations on expecting a child and also on your engagement to Twyla. I cannot wait to meet her. You must be Craig, Scott has told me quite a bit about you and the miracle working you did on Mackolla and Bamburgh and providing us the ability to build Clan spec weapons and equipment. Now, as you know, we have had the ability to produce Clan spec weapons for a few years now in quantity, but we lacked the wide spread ability to maintain that equipment on a large scale. But now, I am told we are ready to begin some large scale deployments of this ability. We would like you 2 to advise us on what and how much to deploy." Victor said

Scott could not help but glance at Morgan Hasek Davion, he just did not know what he was getting into, Craig was just as much a fanatic as Boss was. This was going to get good quick. "Thanks Victor, glad to help out as always. Me and Craig played around with some figures on the way here. The AFFC is too big to refit to Omni Mech technology very quickly, BUT, we think we could easily refit 2-3 full RCT's to 100% Omni Mech and Clan spec weapons for a test bed. But refitting standard Mechs to Clan spec weapons, now that is much easier. In addition we are ready to enter into mass production, well on a larger scale than we have been anyway, of Clan 2nd Line Mechs and our own designed Clan armed Mechs.

On Bamburgh, we currently have quite an inventory sitting ready to be delivered as we speak. I have just never authorized the wide spread sale of our equipment. We currently have:

 [u Mechs[/u]
 Thor/Summoner- 70
 Ryoken/Stormcrow- 120
 Fenris/Ice Ferret- 90
 Shadow Cat- 40
 Turkina- 20
 Loki- 20
 Mad Cat- 40
 Cougar- 20
 Kingfisher- 80
 Hellhound/Conjurer- 130
 Vixen- 140
 Wolfhound IIC- 110
 Highlander IIC- 100
 Guillotine IIC- 60
 Thug 11EC- 60
 Volar VLR-1C -80
 Volar VLR-2C - 80
 Volar VLR-3C - 80
 Volar VLR-4C - 80
 Warhammer 7A- 120
 Thunderbolt 5Sb- 120
 Trebuchet 3C- 160
 Ostwar 2MbC - 48
 Highlander HGN-732b - 72
 Ostwar 2Mb - 144

Now we still have our by hand operation on Mackolla which can produce 36 Mechs at the same time, depending on type, like the Trebuchet 3C, we can build 108 a year just using that production format, 3 per year in each bay. We have expanded our production capabilities beyond what even I had expected, we now have 20 lines available on Bamburgh dedicated to Omni Mech production, another 20 to building Clan 2nd Line and our Clan armed designs and 15 lines producing our standard models. Craig ramped up our production capability quite a bit after Tortuga Prime and then again when I sent a present to Clan Nova Cat.

I was actually about to offer our standard Mechs for sale on the open market. Unless someone wants to buy them from me first anyway." Scott finished

"Why so few of certain models of Omni Mechs?" Morgan asked

Craig fielded this question "Those were mainly test runs I conducted to verify that we could manufacture the design and verify production line operation."

"And how many lines are dedicated to each model?" Morgan asked

Craig looked at Scott who nodded, go ahead "Currently, I have our Bamburgh operation setup like this:

 Standard Mechs
Warhammer WHM-7A, 3 lines producing 72 per year
Thunderbolt TDR-5Sb, 3 lines producing 72 per year
Trebuchet TBT-3C, 2 lines producing 96 per year
Thug 11Eb, 2 lines producing 60 per year
Highlander HGN-732b, 2 lines producing 36 per year
Ostwar OWR-2Mb, 3 lines producing 72 per year

 Omni Mechs
 Thor/Summoner, 2 lines producing 48 per year
 Ryoken/Stormcrow, 2 lines producing 72 per year
Kingfisher, 2 lines producing 36 per year
Fenris/Ice Ferret, 2 lines producing 72 per year
Mad Cat, 2 lines producing 48 per year
Shadow Cat, 2 lines producing 72 per year
Night Gyr, 2 lines producing 48 per year, I am just starting production of this model
Loki, 2 lines producing 48 per year, I am just starting production of this model
Turkina, 1 line producing 18 per year, just starting production
Battle Cobra, 1 line producing 36 per year, just starting production
Puma, 1 line producing 36 per year, just starting production

 Clan 2nd Line/Clan armed
Thug 11EC, 3 lines producing 72 per year
Vixen, 2 lines producing 72 per year
 Hellhound/Conjurer, 2 lines producing 72 per year
Highlander IIC, 1 lines producing 24 per year
Volar 1C, 1 line producing 30 per year
Volar 2C, 1 line producing 30 per year
Volar 3C, 1 line producing 30 per year
Volar 4C, 1 line producing 30 per year
Wolfhound IIC, 1 line producing 48 per year
Guillotine IIC, 1 line producing 24 per year
Ostwar 2MbC, 1 line producing 30 per year

As you can see, we are preparing to enter the market in a very strong way. It took much time to develop all the needed supporting factories, weapons, engines etc to be able to get to this point. In addition to training all the workers. For the last 10 years, our forces have been using and maintaining Clan spec weapons and equipment, it took time, but it can be done on a much larger scale. The Federated Commonwealth has many manufacturers of Battlemechs all with their existing infrastructure in place, it will take some time for them to retool to put Clan spec into wide spread use though, but not much. I calculate 1-2 years and all could be manufacturing Clan spec equipment fairly quickly.

But, I caution you, if you do not want this to spread beyond the borders of the Federated Commonwealth, I would not allow access to this technology to any company with production sites outside your borders." Craig said

"Exactly how are you able to manufacture in such numbers? You are quoting production numbers on par with Corean on New Avalon. That is the last functioning Star League era factory that I know of, outside of the factories on Terra anyway." Victor asked

"Uh, well, Uncle Harry got it from Comstar a while back. It seems that it is Star League quality, with the same rates, it is quite automated. It took some work to adapt it to Omni Mech production, or at least that is what Craig told me, but he managed to do it and well, here we are." Scott said

"And you have not shared because?" Victor asked

"Because you never asked me to, plus I have been kind of busy the last few years and never thought about it." Scott said

"Uh huh, I think me and you should have a talk Scott. That is a pretty big oops I forgot to tell you." Victor said

"It's the truth. You want the designs for the factories, no problem. Craig has already told me that there is no way to retool an existing factory line to this technology, it has to be built from the ground up. Mitchell Aerospace has poured Billions into building this factory to this level. Not to mention the Billions into our Aerospace Industry and Shipyards. And let's not forget our Tank Factory. I have been toying with pouring several Billion into Quickcell's Broken Wheel operation to expand it's construction, but I am not allowing it access to Clan tech. Even been toying with a factory on one of the larger populated planets in my March. Have not made up my mind yet on that one yet." Scott countered

Morgan decided to toss some water on the little fire before it went to inferno level "Let's all calm down, in Duke Mitchell's defense, he has been quite busy the last few years. He was away for over a year helping Clan Nova Cat move, then the entire Tortuga Prime, rebuilding his MDF, then we flooded him with settlers. It's a big whoops, but I believe him. Now, the more important thing is, how do we implement wide scale deployment of Clan Tech to our forces?"

"I think the best thing I to allow the manufactures to introduce their own upgrades and designs. We gave the Federated Commonwealth the needed material to build Clan spec weapons. But, I will not assist in giving another manufacture access to our Omni production. They want it, they can spend the time and energy developing the ability. The AFFC wants Clan Omni Mechs, Clan Omni Fighters, Clan Omni Vehicles, or even our 2nd Line and home designs, they can buy them from us. Go hog wild on a buying spree and I have no problems retooling my standard mech factory to build Omni Mechs or 2nd line stuff if that is what I need to do. Sorry Victor, but here I make a stand. We handed over our shipyard technology and even some ship designs and now that Mitchell Aerospace has decided to enter the civilian market, I am hearing some grumbles about it. We handed over the ability to build Clan spec weapons and not much has happened with it. But on releasing our ability to build Clan Omni Mechs, Clan 2nd Line, Clan Omni Fighters and Omni Vehicles, I say no for the first time to you or the Federated Commonwealth." Scott said throwing a little more gasoline on top of the water Morgan tried to throw onto the flames

It was obvious to everyone that Scott had struck a nerve, for the look on Victor's face said it all. He was not used to being told no. Very few people ever said no to him. Those that did usually regretted it. But, instead of an outburst, Victor took a deep breathe to calm himself before speaking "Okay Scott, your right, your Uncle and you have given without exception a tremendous amount to the Federated Commonwealth. Keep your Clan Omni secrets to yourself. I do want the plans and specs for the Star League Mechs factory though."

"I will have them sent to you. I am sorry Victor, but I understand the passing of the shipyards and even Clan spec weapons to the Federated Commonwealth. Your mother, father and even you helped a tremendous amount in making those possible. But the reverse engineering of Omni Technology was all us. We did that completely on our own. In this area, outside of Clan Nova Cat or maybe Clan Wolf in Exile, I prefer that we be the sole builders of Clan Omni Technology. I can promise this, I will not sell those Omni's to just anyone. If I even think they might in some way constitute a danger to the Federated Commonwealth or it's allies, they will not get even an actuator from us." Scott vowed

"It's okay, it got a little heated, but the more I think about it, you are right. It is risky enough just allowing the widespread use of Clan spec weapons onto the playing field. For now, let's all get some dinner, I am hungry." Victor said ending the meeting

two full regiments?

I wonder how big a budget those guys on Northwind have,
or it could be used to rebuild the Black Watch now that the

Nice update!  I'm thinking Scott will eventually share the Omni manufacturing technology, but it's not a bad idea to maintain a monopoly for the short term.

Well, unless Duke Scott has Mitchel built equipment not be compatible to AFFC equipment, his monopoly will be broken soon then he realizes.   It wont take much to make a viable Dire Wolf(Diashi) Omnimech, and Comstar/SLDF could already produce the Battle Cobra and possibly the Crossbow.

If I was Victor, I'd say, ok, you get to keep the Clan Tech Weapons and Armor, give me the Clan Tech DHS, ECM, Active Probes designs.  You solve alot of problems of the upgraded IS design with Clan Tech DHS.

The Dragoon renamed and armed with Clan spec weapons. The 1,2,3,4 versions correspond to the Dragoon variants. Only with Clan spec weapons on it.

 Here you go.

if the Wolves in Exile can not get Alphard than they should take Horatius.  MAI has a weapons factory there before WoB came around.  that would give them something to start with.

 27 July 3064
     New Avalon

Once again, Duke Scott Mitchell, Archon Prince Victor Steiner Davion, Marshal of the Armies Morgan Hasek Davion and Craig were in Victor's office going over idea's. Craig was briefing them on his Volar design.

"My Volar design originates with the Dragoon, a design built by the Usurper and accidently transferred to us by Comstar with the Mech Factory. I was loathe to build it, but Scott convinced me to redesign it and rename it. It was a elegant design overall, I just perfected it.

The Volar VLR-1C is a ranged fighter, CERPPC and 2 CLBX10. A simple design.

The Volar VLR-2C is a close in fighter. Long range is a single CERPPC, and in close a LBX20 with 3 tons of ammo and 4 CERML as backups. It is faster with a bigger engine.

The Volar VLR-3C is a fire support design. Armed with 3 CLRM20, each with ART-IV and 3 tons of ammo. Back up weapons are 4 CMPL and a CSPL.

The Volar VLR-4C is a ranged fighter first, but can be devastating at close range also. Primary long range weapons are CERPPC and CGauss Rifle. Backed up by 2 CERML and 3 CSSRM6 missile systems each with a ton of ammo.

The weapons are modular and can be easily swapped out for damaged ones or even can have totally new configurations put in place easily. Not a full on Omni Mech, but pretty close. All heat sinks are Clan Double and are fitted to the engine. Alpha strikes on some versions are not advised. Price of each model is 20 to 26 Million C-Bills." Craig said

"That cheap for a Clan armed Mech? I expected it to cost much more." Morgan said

"Since we can easily mass produce the Clan spec weapons, we can keep the costs down and under control. Plus the engine, chassis and armor is kept to Inner Sphere standards. Switching those to Clan spec would add to the cost of the design." Craig explained, but what you don't know is I added 6 Million to the average cost of each design and I am still cheaper than the average heavy Mech out there.

"So, I take it some of your Mackolla Armored Grenadiers are running this design?" Morgan asked

"Oh yes, all of the Mackolla Armored Grenadiers are running full Clan weaponry in the RCT's. Even the Armor Regiments are Clan armed. I was given carte blanche after all to outfit my Brigade as I saw fit. Any equipment replacement, I will see that they have it and bill the AFFC accordingly. The 1st and 2nd MAG RCT's are fully out fitted with Clan Omni Mechs and each uses Clan Bandit Omni Hover Tanks in their Armor Regiments. The 3rd MAG RCT, it is running 60% Clan Omni Mechs and 40% Clan 2nd Line, it's Armor Regiments are all Clan weapons but use heavier tanks. The 4th MAG RCT is outfitted with 60% Clan 2nd Line and 40% our Clan armed designs, the Armor Regiments are all Clan armed. I plan to refit the 3rd to full Omni Mechs soon though. Plus I want to activate a 5th MAG RCT if the AFFC approves, I am going to do it anyway, and it will eaither be in the MDF or AFFC, your call." Scott said

"I will admit, I have not dug to deep into the exact make up of each of the new Mackolla Armored Grenadiers. I was afraid to actually, after dealing with that maniac you have running your warship program, I figured you had them stocked as best you can." Morgan admitted

"Yeah, Boss can be quite a handful. Plus each MAG has a full compliment of Lee Mech, Lee Armor, Intruder BA, Gremlin Dropships, Pentagon Assault and Titan Dropships assigned to them all transported aboard LF Monolith Jumpships." Scott said

"Surprised you did not have them on Tarawa Transports and assigned warship escorts." Morgan said sarcastically

"Initially I was going to do just that, but I did not want to give you a heart attack when I billed you for them. But if you do not object, I will damn sure make that happen. I am all about making sure my units are as fully equipped with the best equipment I can provide them." Scott replied in deadly seriousness.

Victor started laughing when Morgan slapped his forehead and groaned like he was in agony. "Tell you what Morgan, I will provide them with the Tarawa and warship escorts, in return, I get the LF Monolith Jumpships the AFFC so kindly bought for them and I will subtract the difference from the bill." Scott said

"Victor, can't you make him stop? It is like having the Fox guard the hen house dealing with either Scott here or the lunatic in charge of the shipyards. I am slowly developing chronic headaches every time I even see something with the word Mitchell in it." Morgan said, half jokingly.

"Not really. I did give Scott here carte blanche to outfit his Brigade as he saw fit. I am surprised the 6th Davion Guards is not fully decked out." Victor said

"They are to a large extent. We did not go full bore on them, but they are out fitted quite well. How about this, as a test bed, I fully outfit the 6th Davion Guard with full Clan kit. I mean all the way. Heck, I will even slowly outfit every Regiment assigned to the Outer March. Even the March Militia's. Which by the way I am about to activate the Bamburgh March Militia and possibly the Mackolla March Militia. Now granted, equipping all of these units with Clan spec to test the ability to maintain them will not be a fair test, these units are sitting right on top of us. Support will be easy for them.

But, I have been thinking about this for awhile now. Craig and Boss said it could be done. I want to build a few ships, maybe 4-5 to start with. These ships will be outfitted with all the manufacturing equipment to rebuild full Clan Omni Mechs and stuff. These will be manned by Mitchell Aerospace crews. Call it a roving depot level repair facility. If you let me build some Rescue Yardships to go along with them, I can create 2 to 3 fully outfitted mobile production and maintence facilities. No more pulling ships and equipment back to Demeter or Mackolla to fix stuff beyond the capabilities in the field. We can come to them. Or close enough to cover 2-3 units at a time. I only ask because you know damn well those ships are going to be armed, so technically warships." Scott said

Another groan escaped Morgan's lips which caused a few smiles all around "How big of a ship are we talking Scott?" Victor asked

"Not a clue Victor, it is just a mind exercise right now. Can it be done, yes. How big will the ships be, no clue. Probably pretty big, lot's of workers involved. Cost, well that is my problem isn't it." Scott said, say yes Victor, say yes.

"Okay, do a trial run, build 2 of your factory ships and 2 Rescue Yardships. Let's see what you can do with them." Victor said

YES!!!!!!! Now I will have roving factories and will not have to ship the damned Mechs all over the place, I can build them and refit units as I go. Good luck keeping up with Mitchell Aerospace everyone. Scott thought before responding "Thanks Victor, you will not be disappointed. This will really help the AFFC properly maintain their equipment better than shipping a mech or fighter back to the factory for a overhaul or upgrade."

  1-31 August 3064
            Illyria

Star Colonel Jullamon Lossey and the 274th Battle Cluster came at a pirate point only 2 days from the planet. Escorted by the Trinary of Omni Fighters, the 274th Battle Cluster made for the planet's surface.

On the surface, Caesar Julius O'Reilly had gotten word of the arrival of possible reinforcements heading for the surface, but he was not concerned, it was only 4 Dropships in bound, a mere Regiment. He had almost 5 Regiments on the surface with him. He would detail 2 of the Mercenary Regiments to deal with the incoming force while his remaining forces finished off the 278th Division.

Once the landing area of the incoming reinforcements was clear, Simonson's Cutthroats and Hermann's Hermits were sent out to deal with the landing enemy. Once down, the 274th Battle Cluster quickly disembarked and slammed into Simonson's Cutthroats like a evil meat grinder. 55 Omni Mechs and 150 Elementals quickly routed the mercenary Regiment which retreated leaving 38 Mechs on the field of battle at the cost of 7 Omni Mechs and 22 Elementals. The Trinary of Omni Fighters had not been idle, performing repeated strafing attacks on Hermann's Hermits slowing their advance and knocking 15 Mechs out of action before they even reached the 274th Battle's main force.

Star Colonel Lossey detailed his 2nd Battle Trinary and 48th Supernova to keep up the pursuit of the Cutthroats while his Command Trinary, 1st Battle Trinary and 43rd Battle Binary dealt with Hermann's Hermits. Over the course of 6 hours, the 274th Battle Cluster had destroyed or captured 2/3rd's of Simonson's Cutthroats and 1/2 of Hermann's Hermits and never broke stride in the process. Simonson's Cutthroats retreated for their Dropships, but Hermann's Hermits headed to regroup with Caesar O'Reilly's main force, but with the 274th Battle Cluster right on their heels.

On 3 August, the 274th Battle Cluster slammed into Caesar O'Reilly's main force and after 5 hours of fighting had shoved them back and linked up with the remains of the 278th Division. On 4 August, the combined 274th Battle and 278th Division began pushing the invading Marian forces back towards the planets Capitol and Space Port. On 9 August, the remaining Marian forces hastily boarded their Dropships and lifted from the planet. The 274th Battle Cluster would need several weeks to repair all of their damaged Omni Mechs.

 278th Division
173 Mechs destroyed (276 Mechs deployed, 2 Reg of 132 each and command comp of 12)
234 Tanks destroyed (324 Tanks deployed, 3 Reg of 108 each)
2 Infantry Regiments destroyed (6 Regiments deployed)
91 Aerospace Fighters destroyed (108 deployed)

 274th Battle Cluster
 12 Omni Mechs destroyed
 47 Elementals KIA
 5 Omni Fighters destroyed

 II Legio
 66 Mechs destroyed
 52 Tanks destroyed
 III Legio
 71 Mechs destroyed
 83 Tanks destroyed
 IV Legio (before departure)
 17 Mechs destroyed
 11 Tanks destroyed
 Lone Star Regiment
 74 Mechs destroyed
 Simonson's Cutthroat's
 82 Mechs destroyed
 Hermann's Hermits
 63 Mechs destroyed

 Lothario

IV Legio made their landings on 18 August and walked right into a vicious ambush set by Star Colonel Evelyn Morris and her 100th Striker Cluster. The Tertia Cohors was completely destroyed in less than 2 hours, their 3025 era Assault Mechs being outclassed by the Clan Omni Mechs. Quickly pulling her 100th Striker Cluster back, Star Colonel Morris planned for a campaign of mobile warfare. Over 10 days of hit and run fighting found the IV Legio leaving the planet to Clan Nova Cat.

 100th Striker Cluster
 17 Omni Mechs destroyed
 23 Elementals KIA

 IV Legio
 56 Mechs destroyed
 28 Tanks destroyed

 Leximon

Star Colonel Bel and his 12th Nova Cat Regulars had been ordered by Star Colonel Lossey to take Leximon. Making their landings on 4 August. In only 12 hours, they succeeded in forcing the surrender of the planet's militia garrison and the planetary government.

 Predlitz

Clan Hell's Horses Alpha Galaxy issued their Batchall for the planet which was accepted by the 3rd Claw. Landing on 4 August saw the defending 3rd Claw quickly overrun and defeated by the 11th Mechanized Cluster. saKhan Tanya DeLaurel detailed the 12th Mechanized, 21st and 22nd Mechanized Assault Clusters to take Spittal and Pomme De Terre. The remaining 3 Trinary's of the 3rd Claw were taken as bondsmen.

 Goito

Clan Hell's Horses Beta Galaxy issued their Batchall which was accepted by Clan Ghost Bears 63rd PGC. Making their landings on 2 August, a furious 2 days of fighting saw the 63rd PGC destroyed with only 11 being taken as Bondsmen. Beta Galaxy's next target would be Casere.

 Kempten

Clan Hell's Horses Gamma Galaxy issued their Batchall which was accepted by Clan Ghost Bears 73rd Battle Cluster. A furious 4 days of fighting saw the 73rd Battle Cluster defeated but both of Gamma Galaxies Clusters were so chewed up that further offensive operations was not possible.

 Spittal

The 12th Mechanized Cavalry's Batchall was refused by the 18th Battle Cluster. Making their landings on 19 August saw over 8 days of fighting between the 12th Mechanized Cavalry and 18th Battle Cluster. Star Colonel Douglas Mitchell, commander of the 12th Mechanized Cavalry was forced to reteat his Cluster from the planet.

 Pomme De Terre

When the 21st and 22nd Mechanized Assault Clusters entered orbit around the planet, they issued their Batchall. The Clan Ghost Bear defending forces accepted and declared they would defend with all they had. 90 Ghost Bear Aerospace fighters from the 37th and 55th PGC rose to meet the invading Hell's Horses dropships. A furious air battle occurred which saw 54 Bear Aerospace fighters destroyed but they claimed 38 Horse Omni Fighters and downed 2 Union C's in the planets atmosphere.

Fighting a mobile campaign, the 37th PGC managed to end the month still alive and fighting.

 Alshain

Khan Bjorn Jorgensson was infuriated when notified by the attack on his occupation zone by Clan Hell's Horses. That they had done so with possible tacit approval from Clan Wolf made him even madder. He quickly began organizing his forces to counter attack the Horses and also punish Clan Wolf.

have you thought about a small craft SAR?   they would be great to recover fighters sized and small craft sized craft.  they would let you cover more area at one time post battle.

 1-30 September 3064
       Lordinax

The 274th Battle Cluster landed on Lordinax on 15 September and quickly overran the small garrison there and forcing the planetary government to surrender.

 Lothario

The 278th Division took over garrison duties on Lothario, releasing the 100th Striker Cluster to further offensive actions against the Marian Hegemony.

  Lummatii

Released from Lothario, the 100th Striker Cluster took Lummatii by 26 September.

  Islington

Tau Galaxy's Vision Keshik (Cluster sized) landed on Islington on 17 September and by 24 September had defeated the III Auxilia Limitanei and forced the planetary governments surrender.

  Ballalaba

Tau Galaxy's 9th Nova cat Regulars landed on 19 September and by 27 September had defeated the IV Secunda Auxilia Legion and forced the planetary governments surrender.

Clan Hell's Horse versus Clan Ghost Bear

 Casere

Clan Hell's Horse's 666th and 888th Mechanized Assault Clusters entered the system at the Zenith Jump Point. Beginning the 3 day journey to the planets orbit. 2 day's from orbit, Star Colonel Icobod Dwelley issued his Batchall to Clan Ghost Bear, the Batchall was accepted and Clan Ghost Bear chose to defend with everything they had. When the defending units were transmitted to Star Colonel Icobod Dwelley, he was horrified to see that they had pledged GBS White Claw and GBS White Fang, both Essex Destroyer's to the planets defense.

Four hours later, GBS White Claw leaped to the Zenith Jump Point and forced the surrender of the Clan Hell's Horses Jumpships. Both Essex Destroyers had been at the far end of the system in case the SLDF attempted to continue their war after defeating the Jaguars.

GBS White Fang leaped to a pirate point between Clan Hell's Horses Clusters and the planet. Heading for an intercept, 8 Hours later the White Fang fired on the leading Dropship and destroyed the Union C. The White Fang's fighter Trinary was busy trying to keep the Hell's Horse's fighters off the White Fang. When the GBS White Claw leaped into the pirate point and headed for the incoming Dropships, Star Colonel Icobod Dwelley had no choice but the surrender his 2 Clusters to Clan Ghost Bear or see them both destroyed without ever getting to the surface.

 Kempten

Clan Ghost Bear's GBS Ursa Minor, York Destroyer leaped into a pirate point only 2 days from the planets surface, with it was the 50th Striker, 243rd Battle and 300th Battle Clusters. Star Colonel Stephan Huntsig, commander of the 50th Striker did not issue a Batchall. His orders were to destroy the Hell's Horse forces on the planet. Landing on 16 September, a fierce 4 day battle was fought that saw both the 45th Mechanized Strike and 87th Mechanized Cavalry Clusters destroyed. Enough Clan Hell's Horse warriors were taken as bondsmen to outfit 2 Trinary's of troops.

 Pomme De Terre

Escorted by GBS Shining Claw, Congress Frigate, the 115th Striker Cluster and 357th Assault Clusters arrived to reinforce the 37th PGC. Landing on 25 September, both Ghost Bear Clusters quickly slammed into the 21st and 22nd Mechanized Assault Clusters and over a 2 day period destroyed both Clusters. Only enough warriors to fill out a single Binary of Mechs and a Binary of Elementals were taken as Bondsmen.

 Rasalhague

On 27 September, Clan Ghost Bears 21st Phalanx, 3rd Bear Guards, 283rd Battle and 297th Battle Clusters leaped into the Rasalhague system escorted by the GBS Ursa Major, Nightlord and GBS Icepick and GBS Blizzard, both Lola III Destroyers. Issuing a Batchall for the planet, saKhan Aletha Kabrinski designated the 21st Phalanx to take the planet from the defending 2nd Wolf Lancers. It was a fierce 6 hour battle for the planet but the 21st Phalanx defeated the 2nd Wolf Lancers and secured Rasalhague for Clan Ghost Bear.

 Engadine

Hearing news of her forces being defeated by the counter attacking Ghost Bears, saKhan Tanya DeLaurel ordered her remaining forces to redeploy back to their starting worlds.

 Mackolla

Duke Scott Mitchell, Craig, Cathy Mayweather, Tarek and George were all aboard Shipyard One and in Boss' office. Scott had gathered all of his experts on board the shipyard for this conference.

"Boss, you remember that Factory ship I kept rolling thru my mind?" Scott asked

"Yes, I remember, I played with some numbers, but I need more concrete information. I know exactly what a Endo Factory will weigh, and a bunch of the other stuff, but I need to know what the Mech, Aerospace and BA stuff will weigh." Boss said

"All told, including the Endo Factory and all the attending shops and machine shops, about 187,500 tons. I plan to run no more than 4 different chassis at a time, that will give me 4 lines at a combined weight of 35,000 tons. Each capable of producing 8-15 Mechs per month. Talking with Cathy, the Aerospace Lines will weigh about the same and would have 4 Lines able to do 4-8 fighters each per month. Battle Armor, well those we hand build so 10,000 tons for all the press machines and stuff, we figure we can make 150-300 suits per month. I want to have 140 Mech cubicles installed, that will allow me to either hand build Mechs or massive upgrades of an entire Regiment at one time. Give me 36 Aerospace cubicles, Cathy tells me she does a lot of the finishing work by hand, so if we know what is needed ahead of time, we can have 36 ready to leave on arrival." Craig said

Over 6 hours of questions, changes, idea's both accepted and discarded, the final ship was designed. It was a huge ship. Since it was so expensive, but slow, Scott ordered it heavily armed and armored also. LF batteries were a must for rapid escape, 12 dropship collars were attached, both for possible supply and defense. It would carry it's own 18 Aerospace fighters for defense and 150 Battle Armor Marines. Over 200,000 tons of cargo space gave it a hefty amount of supplies. Almost 5000 personnel would be aboard the vessel and everyone had quarters. 4 250 meter grav decks would help keep the crew as healthy as possible.

"What about vehicle construction?" George asked, he was enjoying his first time off of Mackolla in years.

"I was thinking on the trip back, those will be needed in huge quantities. Being much easier to build, me and Craig decided that those would be modular setups. One Mammoth Dropship can hold enough modular assembly line equipment to build a 5 line factory capable of producing 75 to 125 tanks per month depending on type. Another Mammoth can carry the needed modular components to build the engines, armor, weapons. Another 4 Mammoth dropships carrying supplies for the construction. If we know ahead of time, we can arrange for additional supplies be waiting on us on as needed basis. Craig is sure he can set up the modular assembly lines in such a way that less than a months assembly of them and a month to break them down again for movement. 2 Converted Mules can be used to transport the needed workers.

If we combine the Factory ship with say 2 LF Monolith carrying the ground based Tank Factory and supply ships, then we should have no problem transporting what we need plus additional escorts. Because I plan to have these vessels very well escorted and protected. Ground protection will be provided by a new combined arms Cluster the same as the 2 new ones I added to the Galaxies. Nice and robust. Orbital will be 2 Titan Dropships, 2 Pentagon Dropships at a minimum." Scott answered

"Okay, I will get started on this as soon as I clear a yard big enough for the damned thing. I need you folks to get me the damned factory equipment soon though. Gonna take at least 2 years to complete the damned thing." Boss said

"In that case, build 2 of the damned things. I also want 2 Rescue Yardships built along with 2 Elephant Tugs. Might as well go big as hell." Scott ordered.
