Are the Premium Mechs Random or Just a Loki & Thor?

Loki and Thor every time, so great if you're a Jade Falcon fan :D (not that the other clans can't use them... but why would they?)

2 good minis, and 24 minis that range from "mediocre" to "terrible."

you better be talking about the materials then :P

Good Sir, will I have to challenge you to a duel to defend the honor of the lovely Miss Summoner?

If I could get megamek to work online, I'd fight your summoner with a Flamberge Prime.  They're about the same tonnage and BV so it should be fair, right?

True enough, though my preferred configs are the G, D, H, and A most of which are higher BV. I'm betting in the end all it would really prove is that you're the better player.  ;D But I shall defend my Lady to the last!

Well, I might not be a better player :D  Aesthetically, I love the Summoner.  There's just something about it's assymetry that I really enjoy.  On the table top it just consistently underwhelms, which is a shame.

Got mine today, except for a missing piece on the Jenner and the Summoner missing a Hex Base all is good. I can clean the flach up afterall so thats no biggy. And conviently I have a spare plastic hex base for the Summoner. What really impresses me is the maps, I'm going to see a lot of use out of these maps, i really hope we see more mapsets like these coming out when we finally get a Clan box set.

No problem with that, you can even post pictures of them  ;)

Thanks, trying to run a Quickstrike / BF2 Campaign and one of my Late V-day gifts is a box set. I want to build some other faction forces for my heroes to shoot at..

Box sets are indeed great for rapidly building up a minis selection for older games. They're also pretty useful in modern games: One box, and you've got two companies of generic house militia OPFOR! O0

I generally paint them up in lance sized units for each of the Successor States and a Periphery power, did that with the last box set. Probably going to do the same with this one, except I'll do all Periphery powers and a Merc Lance. That way I have example lances for people to try out.

Quick question about the minis for anyone else that got them.

Is the spider's jet thing supposed to be mounted near its hips? The metal ones all seem to have that jet assembly up around the shoulder area and I'm trying to decide if mine is messed up.

Other than that the only other thing I've not liked about the boxed set is that my loki only came with the legs and hex base. XD

Last time I looked at either a metal or plastic Spider, both had their jump jets span the whole length of the back, from the neck down to the waist.

As for your Loki, I don't remember it offhand, but Catalyst has an email you can send a message to to get any box set mini issues resolved. Perhaps it can be found on the main site?

The Spider's jump jets are most likely upside down. I have heard others mention it and that is the way mine came also.
If the enemy is in range most likely so are you.

As you can see, that trapezoidal pannel goes behind the head, and the wing like bits extend upward and backward.

I have a total of five box sets.  In the three that I've opened, the jet pack thingies on the Spider are upside down on evey single one.

They're not hard to fix. Wiggle the pack gently until the glue comes loose, then reglue it in the proper position.

I have.  Just mentioning that, so far as I can tell from personal experience and the reports of others, if the Spider looks funny, there's a high probability the jetpack is on upside down.

Okay I was just curious if that was intentional or just a case of the ten cents an hour assemblers not knowing what a spider looked like. I was just going to fix it by removing it from the post and moving it up the body.

it's the loki parts that were the most annoying.
