Clan DropShips in early sources

Before the Broadsword (a Leopard-C in all but name), Union-C and Overlord-C were written into canon, some older books such as the Jade Falcon Sourcebook or the Luthien scenario pack give named Clan DropShips on TOEs and in scenarios and fluff, and classify them as Unions or Overlords.

Can named "Union" and "Overlord" class DropShips in Clan forces be assumed to have been Union-C and Overlord-C class vessels?

I'm hoping for an official ruling so that I can properly classify those named vessels in their respective articles on the Sarna BattleTechWiki.

Um, follow-up question: I take it this doesn't only refer to Union/Union C and Overlord/Overlord C class vessels but also Leopard/Broadsword and perhaps others such as Seeker/Sassanid?
