I picked up a couple of packs of Marauder MAD-7D/9D from IWM recently, and am trying to figure out how to assemble the 9D variant. IWM has a pic of the 7D, so that's easy enough. But the pieces included aren't making sense to me- either I'm missing some, or there are a lot of extras. Thanks!

Iirc it also included the pieces for the
9M2 9W2. I think the only difference between the 7D and 9D is the shoulder gun

Perfect!
Thanks to both Sartris and Juodas Varnas for the replies.
Seems like the extra bits are indeed for a different variant.

Sadly, I had to go back and check. xp The -9W2 variant http://ironwindmetals.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=9775 was done at the same time for the con-release Republic lance pack. I knew the -9M2 wasn't it (it's on my to-do list to mod to), but couldn't remember what the other one was.

Is it just me or do that look WAY better than the old 5R/9S mini? Anyone have a side by side comparison?
-
the torso is beefier to be sure

There was a lot of re-skinning done. Beefier legs, shorter upper arms, some thickness to the torso and extra detail. A lot of small improvements, assuming you weren't a big fan of the original PP version's looks.

It got the Joel treatment....

Yup, it looks great. As you can tell by my avatar, I'm a huge fan of the 5R, and I think whichever Phoenix Marauder variant you are using, it can be improved by using this new sculpt. Well done!
