the F-900, a Light engined Riever.
« on: 16 August 2023, 04:32:09 »
so musing on a question asked in the aerospace forum... i give you a light engined Reiver.

decided to have a little fun in how much i could push the concept of the Riever. the engine itself doesn't really give you much to work with.. but DHS did. in the end i decided to make the thing nastier at its dropship hunting, and just update the tech used..

MML 7 LRM Ammo (68)       FSLG      4.0      -      -    -    -    -
CASE                      FSLG      0.5      -      -    -    -    -

2 MML 7                   LWG       9.0      4      4    4    4    0

double gauss will do a number on dropships, and it can reach out a lot farther than the AC20's of the older models. and instead of an LRM and array of SRMS, its a quartet of MML7's with enough ammo to lay some hurt down at any range. and since all of those are low heat, it can still open up with everything. plus it got an armor upgrade and a few extra tons.

Hmmm...

Honestly MMLs feel like a waste on ASF since Minimum Range really isn't a thing and you pay too much of a mass premium for a thus useless versatility.  But I don't know what to suggest to use in their place without going the boring optimized route.

Agreed,

MML's, SRMs, & Streak SRMs are all missile types I avoid on ASF when doing custom work.

Shouldn't the SRV for the MMLs be higher than their LRV? ???

i'm not sure how MML calculates these things, to be honest.
