==Overview:==
When Clan Snow Raven was forced to flee the Clan Homeworlds, they were caught unprepared and left most of their production lines behind, including the line that was dedicated to Sylph production.
After taking some time to ease themselves to their new home in the Outworlds Alliance, the Ravens eventually attempted to recreate some of their lost production lines, one of which was the Sylph line on their new CSR Battle Armor Facility Alpha site on Ramora.
However, the Sylph that eventually came out of the Ramora line was not the same VTOL capable version that was produced back in the Homeworlds. This was because the Ravens lacked the necessary resources to mass produce proper VTOL capable battle armor suits.
In order to gain access to a line capable of mass producing VTOL battle armor, the Ravens had to reach out to the one Clan in the Inner Sphere that had the necessary resources, as well as being on friendly terms with them. That Clan was Clan Ghost Bear, and after hearing the Ravens' proposal about opening a joint VTOL battle armor production line, the Bears were more than happy to oblige. Shortly after the Raven proposal, a Snow Raven scientist caste team was on its way to Mannendorf in order to collaborate with their corresponding Ghost Bear counterparts in establishing a VTOL capable battle armor production line in one of the Battle Armor factories located on the planet.
With the Bears now firmly onboard the project, the Raven scientists assigned to it felt emboldened to aim for something a little bit more ambitious than simply rehashing the old Sylph design. The Raven scientists' ambition soon spread to their Ghost Bear counterparts, and so, when the boisterous lunchroom conversations with their Ghost Bear counterparts about possible improvements that could be made to the Sylph, such as the use of Improved Stealth Armor instead of Standard Armor, finally reached the ears of people high enough in the food chain, as if by magic, it was decided that the suit that would eventually come out of the new production line shouldn't simply be a rehash the Sylph, but something more like a "Sylph II", whatever that meant ;).
As a consequence of all the tinkering that was eventually done to the base Sylph design, the new VTOL battle armor's chassis had to move up one weight class, so that what started out as a simple project to recreate an old Light VTOL suit's production line, effectively became one of designing a brand new Medium VTOL suit on top of the creation of a new VTOL battle armor production line from scratch.
Because the Snow Ravens initiated the project that led to the creation of the new design, with the Bears only getting on board in the middle stages, the rights to name the new suit should have gone to the Ravens. However, the Ravens felt that since the Bears were gracious enough to lend them their resources in order to complete the "Sylph II" project, the Bears should have the honor of naming the new design. Not wishing to offend the Ravens, the Bears reluctantly accepted the honor that the Ravens gave them, but in a magnanimous gesture the Bears decided to name the new suit the "Hrafna", which means "Raven" in old Norse.
==Capabilities:==
Before mounting Improved Stealth armor onto the Hrafna, the Bear and Raven scientists started with Standard armor and built the Hrafna's 7 variants around it with an eye towards eventually building Improved Stealth versions of those 7 Hrafna variants.
The "Sylph II" variant essentailly recreates the Sylph on the new Hrafna frame, while the "Bearhunter", "AP Gauss" and "Machine Gun" variants are for anti-infantry/battle armor work, while the "Pyro" variant is just there to "heat things up".
