what method was used to calculate coordinates of know stars (Antares, Sirius, Procyon,...) ?

The people who made the original star coordinates are long long long gone from working with BattleTech, nor does anyone currently working have anything to do with that process so that is unfortunate something that has  been lost in the annals of time.
