The fluff text is a bit sparse, but I thought that this kind of vehicle needed to be mentioned. Besides, it's basically what I did in the Oregon Army National Guard.

Overview:
A long-held view of the military is that an army travels on its stomach.
An army is only as good as the individual soldier, and that includes the morale
of said soldier. When a soldier has been in the field for an extended period
of time, one of the things he or she most looks forward to is getting a hot
cooked meal that does not include heating up field rations. When operational
necessities preclude bringing the soldier to a dining facility, the the next
best thing is to bring the dining facility to the soldier. The Small Mobile
Field Kitchen is capable of doing just that for units up to a couple of
companies in size.
Capabilities:
The core of the Mobile Field Kitchen is, of course, the field kitchen. The
kitchen uses its own supply of fuel to cook with while its electrical needs are
provided by the vehicle. The vehicle also has storage for not only the raw
ingredients for the cooks but also potable water and the necessary field
sanitation and serving equipment. While not fast, the Mobile Field Kitchen
has sufficient speed to keep up with the movement of the troops they help to
support.
Variants:
Every modern fighting force has at least some kind of a Mobile Field Kitchen
unit to help supply their soldiers in the field. Most vehicles differ in
terms of the manufacturers, but not in the basic purpose.

Goulashkanon! Excellent. Love it!
-
Is the machine gun for when the troops see local fauna and the cook wants to make the stew a little more flavorful? :D
-
It's kind of high-caliber for hunting purposes, leaves a red mist behind. It's more for convoy defense.
-
Like it, seems a little too heavily armed/armoured for a kitchen but not by much
I'd be inclined to ditch 1T of armour for a 1T infantry compartment to carry a team of cooks
I'd be inclined to ditch the weapon for 1T more cargo and fill half of that with small arms for defence and the other half with more food to fulfil the primary role
But yeah, it works pretty good as is and I'd not insist on either change.

I was actually just looking for a canon unit like this. Battletech doesn't seem to have one, at least as far as I can tell. Most field kitchens seem to be on larger units like dropships and mobile structures.
-
Borrows from the old idea of a pull behind trailer or truck kitchen that could go right up to the front.
-
Have you tried a trailer?
TT
-
I prefer the idea of a self-contained mobile kitchen that does not require wrangling a separate trailer and towing vehicle.
I can also see the value of a trailer being added to another vehicle, though from my own experience as a military cook, I prefer the idea of a single vehicle bringing together several trailers worth of supplies into one self-contained system.

Username and faction checks out. Where would the Herr General be without his dinner eh?
Well done, I like fluff vees that use standard rules like this

There's one on a trailer, a version of the Generic Expandable Services Vehicle IIRC

No for hunting large game, you just drop the belt and trust the gunner aim, because he got 1 shot to bring home "Field Acquired Rations". But remember he going to have to do this via Iron Sights so..

I would consider ADDING a trailer to this to haul additional food/fuel/water supplies or other "HQ" things like tents etc. Maybe even throwing in a 1 ton segment (in the trailer) for a chaplain.

I was going to add this idea too ... create a trailer for this thing to tug along. You can install a 10 rated engine too, for added power requirements. The trailer could even contain a 5 ton (30 man) bay so platoons could rotate to a better sleep/rest area.

If I recall correctly, Reed's Brew had a customized mobile party vehicle that included a pizza oven.

I love this!
