So take the Demolisher II chassis and then the guy looked at the Bolla Stealth Tank and got an idea. So we have a Demolisher II Tank with Vehicle Stealth Armor. That's scary right?

Then you see the guns and likely that scares you more. Twin sawed off Long Toms, each with 4 tons of ammo. That is terrifying to not just mechs but also Battle Armor, Tanks and anything else that falls into its twenty hex max range.

Not so much "crazy" as "crazy like a fox"... AOE weapons of that size are ALWAYS deadly...

Its more the combo of the Stealth Armor with the big guns. It neatly uses up the free 'sinks the engine gives you, and with those two big guns you don't need much more for weapons. Of course the armor could be thicker, had to use 1.5 tons for the ECM suite to make the armor work and Stealth Armor uses the same weight as standard plate. HFF would give a lot more but then it forgoes the stealth bonus, which could help a lot (Especially if you engage the enemy at fairly long range).

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm assuming you can use Thunder/FASCAM rounds with an arty cannon?  If so that gives you some great flexibility as an ambush killer, or just good old close fire support.

I am not a fan of most stealth tanks, but this thing makes sense to me.

IIRC TacOps says that it's standard rounds only in the Arty Cannons.
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."

That might have been errata, so check there too...

Thanks for the direction to look.  So I took a look and found the info on page 285.

Tac Ops basically says Cannons can fire anything the standard Arty gun of the same size can fire, so whatever a Long Tom can fire a LTC can fire.

That was changed by errata (page 48 of TacOps errata v 3.6):
Quote
4) Under “Game Rules”, third paragraph, second sentence
“Artillery Cannons may use the same ordnance types available to a conventional artillery weapon of similar class (for example, a Thumper Artillery Cannon can use the same ammo types available to a standard Thumper artillery piece).”
Change to:
“Artillery Cannons may only use standard Artillery Cannon munitions.”

Thanks Daryk! I keep forgetting about the errata, because I've just got the digital copies, not the hardcopies ...

Glad I could help!  I was tripped up by that a few months ago, which is the only reason I remember...
