I like it. You should take a look at the MI-90 I posted just a bit ago. Seems the only difference between the two is 10 tons of armor and 1 ton of ammo vs. 9 tons of armor and 2 tons of ammo. And honestly I'm leaning towards changing to 10 and 1...
I mean, it's not like once you having something in low Earth orbit you can stick a gassy astronaut on the outside after Chili Night and fart it anywhere in the solar system.

Actually 20 and 2 is better as you can load specialist rounds ( frag, precision, flak)...to me 15 rounds per tube is a design goal for minimum ammo load.  It is my experience that most surviving units in combat will expend about 15 rounds total.  Since I cannot predict which units will survive, all of them on average will carry 15 rounds ( or as close as i can get it)*

* the notable exception is the AC/20, which rarely gets off 5 rounds but I design usually to 10 rounds
Saying that because the equipment isn't up-to-the-minute, bleeding-edge tech therefore not a threat is like saying an M2 Browning isn't dangerous to modern infantry because it is 100 years old.

Yup.  A second ton gives you a bin of flak ammo.  It's a nasty surprise for raiding fighters to get blasted out of the sky when they aren't expecting any real resistance.
