Wanted to ask, are there any prerequisites for writing MotW Articles, if one were interested in writing one up?

Not at all! There are a few "informal" rules, but nothing too serious.

1) Articles get put up every Friday, usually one at a time. It's generally a good idea to post here if you've got something ready, just to make sure no one else was waiting on that slot.

2) People can "reserve" a 'Mech. This is handy if you don't have that much free time, or want to have the chance to play with the 'Mech before writing on it. If something has been reserved for quite a while but you want to tackle it, send the reservee a PM. It's also good to mention what you're working on - nothing's worse than discovering someone else was working on the same 'Mech as you.

3) Retreads of older articles are fine, but not done very often. I'd suggest bumping older articles if you want to discuss those 'Mechs.

I think that's pretty much it...if you ever have any other questions or anything feel free to drop me a PM!

Was the Devastator or Pillager ever done?

Nope, yes...

Or the Fafnir?

And nope. If you check the first two links in my sig you can find chanman's directory of all articles and the list of all 'mechs that haven't been covered yet; they're both handy tools to figure out what has/hasn't been covered.

I have a Fafnir article pre-written for another site that would work here without any edits whatsoever.

EDIT: Okay so that wasn't entirely accurate.  Two new variants since I wrote it, so I'll have to do some minor additions.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

Since it's mostly pre-written, how would you feel about pre-formating it and then quickly posting it around Christmas? I won't have much time to write anything around then.

I'm gonna finish up on the Anubis tonight so it can act as a back-up.
If you'd like a bit more time, Dakkagor, I could always try to get it up tomorrow.

Great! But would it be alright if you held onto it for now?
I think it'd be great if we put up the Hatamoto-Chi and Charger at the same time, since all three designs are pretty interlinked.

I could get the Hatamoto done in two weeks time, ready for new years. Dunno about what The Eagle's schedule might be like, though.

I was looking at the article of the Marauder IIC and it seems to either not be there or is bugged as it leads to the Centaur Battle Armour's review/write up.    If its MIA/dead I can always do one, I need something to write on New Years eve anyhow (working that too :s)

Yeah, the link's been wrong for over a year.
There is a Marauder IIC article though, you just have to use a forum search function. Or google.
Someone should probably PM chanman to fix the link. (And some others, the Marauder IIC isn't the only one, IIRC.)

I know :p Such a first world problem eh? :p  I've also got the Swordsman ready to go when ever, its a fairly small article so could be used as a filler Mech of the Week or if we need something thrown at the board.

I was thinking of doing the Crusader then I saw the ****** WALL of variants and shied away. thats a LOT of variants right there :s
