Sojourner
Goliath C

I am happy to see those two get new/updated sculpts.

Not super sold on another Archer, but kinda nice to have an updated variant.

The Archer was supposed to be part of a GC 2020 con special of having a clear resin model. But due to Covid and other issues that plan did not happen. So it was added to this release due to another model being delayed some.

Man, was waiting for the alternate configs for the Griffin, Commando, and Thunderbolt.

They will still be done, but the person who is to complete the work had other projects going on for us.

Nice.  All three of those are definite wants.

Did the variant configuration(s?) for the Sojourner get funded?

Oh the Sojourner . . . hahahah . . . now to get my IWM request into the local store.

Would it be wrong to bring a Sojourner, Wulfen, Phantom H and two Elementals?

So does that mean that the B and C going to be released separately (perhaps as online exclusives)?

It's one of the TRO 3085 variants.  So it's probably based on that.

eh . . . you are going to have to be specific in your request- which do you mean- the Classics?

They are getting to those, basically working through the RecGuides right now but only 2-3 offerings a quarter it is going to take a while.

Thanks for the update Speck!

I share in the frustration that we aren't getting more of the Classics in metal. I suspect IWM has the inside knowledge to say otherwise, but I would've thought that releasing the Classics (Marauder, Warhammer, Wasp etc) would have been a priority as they appear to be fan favorites. But perhaps there's a moratorium on those releases? Or maybe the Classics they do have don't sell as well as the new Dark Age minis?  I don't know. Just happy to see IWM continues to release new minis.

Yes; some detailing tweaks to bring it closer to the 3085 image (no more LRM doors!), statted out to the -9W. Still want to see it in resin at some point... maybe next year we'll be back to having in-person cons where con-exclusive items make sense.

Things still have time to derail, but so far GenCon is apparently going to have a convention in September of this year and IWM and Catalyst have said they are going to be there. As someone who lives relatively close to Indy, I hope it ends up happening. Probably a long shot, but I also hope to see the Raider make an appearance at the IWM booth.

GenCon is occurring, yes, but it's looking like it's going to have a drastically reduced turnout between people still not wanting to do big crowds and the fact that it's happening later in the year after school has started for many people.  So it's not really a great year to be having con exclusive products.

I was more commenting that conventions are (at least as of now) going to be occurring this year. In general (other companies, I have no idea what IWM will or won't be doing), I assume a lot of con exclusives are likely ones meant for last year since Con season more or less didn't happen and there was likely too much uncertainty too far out to have properly planned for it happening (such as it is) this year. If they plan to do anything, IWM does have the advantage of using domestic production so the current shipping issues aren't going to mess with any plans if they have any.

But, between not knowing for sure there will be cons this year and GenCon in particular apparently asking vendors to not bring things that will cause huge masses of people to swarm their booths, you could very well be right on exclusives.

Then yes, you are referring to the Classics.

The discussion formalized the terms shortly after we got it first glimpses of the new art, and goes like this:

Unseen: The original art.
Reseen: Project Phoenix-style art.
Classic: Redesigned art harkening back to the Unseen, as used in the current crop of boxed sets, Recognition Guides, and the Kickstarter.

Feel free to ignore folks who say nuSeen, that's not really a thing. ;)

Is that really in writing?  Because that is absolutely the silliest statement I have heard in a while.  You are buying booth space because you want a high volume of traffic to buy your products.

Getting the Classics in metal will be nice, I also realize all of it will take time- especially with the truncated release schedule IWM has announced b/c problems.

If I am remembering correctly, it came up from a comment from one of the GenCon reps on their forum. I don't know if it is actually part of any kind of contract or merely a strong (or not so strong I suppose) suggestion as I am not a vendor. This was also while they were toying with having ticketed entry into the dealer's hall for the first few hours to avoid the big crush of people at the doors. I think they realized they were just moving the time of the big crush and not really avoiding it.

I expect this year to be a mess on many levels with things like this. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed the show still happens and there aren't any major fireworks over any temporary measures.

Would be nice to see them...
