With view on the Boxed Sets and what get redesigned I guess Awesome and Battlemaster are the next Classic Mechs by IWM.

I wonder if IWM's can release them at any rate they want or are limited to a certain number per quarter?

For the past year or so it’s been 3 a quarter, plus some online exclusive ones throughout. And they missed a quarter last year (fall), not sure if it’s a COVID thing or a 3 outta 4 ain’t bad thing.

It is, they had more quarterly releases a few years ago (4 or 5?) and you have to admit the demand for the KS mechs is there based on how quickly this has all been selling out.

I'm just remembering the Warhammer Preview and Marauder preview pics we got a few years back and still no release.

I think that they're going to have to redo those to match the Kickstarter minis.

Didn't they have the new NewSeen design?

Those preivew prototypes were made several years before the KS was a thing, dating all the way back to Combat Manual Mercenaries in the case of the Warhammer. You'd have to compare the pictures in the book with the KS mini to see how similar they are

Ideally, each quarter I would love to see one of the new rec guide mechs, one of the redesigned plastics in metal form, one variant of a redesign already in metal, and another random unit that is not already in production.

Its hard to get the excitement for the new era in full swing with less then a 3rd of the new units having a mini.

Thanks Speck, much appreciated ! Great to see 5 Wolverine variants unleashed.

The Winter 2021 release schedule also mentions an Atlas II.. Hm, Anthony did a concept sketch for the Legends book
(Patreon - Dec 8th, 2020) and mentioned the following at that point :

Was able to re-use a fair bit of Atlas parts in the design (and subsequent 3D model) so that sped things up a lot.

Will be interesting to see if the IWM mini uses this sketch/3D as a basis..

Atlas II mini was created by Anthony. So it is based on his sketch for sure.

Looking at this I'm seeing two of the Fan Funded designs getting a release soon. Raider isn't mentioned and I'm a bit disappointing the warship i funded mid-June hasn't gotten done yet.

Both of them are in process, will not be listed until they are in hand at IWM.

With view on the Boxed Sets and what get redesigned I guess Awesome and Battlemaster are the next Classic Mechs by IWM.

Those are being worked on, once they are far enough along they will be slotted for release.

It is, they had more quarterly releases a few years ago (4 or 5?) and you have to admit the demand for the KS mechs is there based on how quickly this has all been selling out.

As of now I do not know when KS mechs will be available to IWM. Those discussions are between Mike and CGL.

I'm just remembering the Warhammer Preview and Marauder preview pics we got a few years back and still no release.

IWM had nothing to do with those. They were 3D printed prototypes that CGL had done.

Ideally I would like to plan something like that and I have tried. But recently it has been in flux and what models are far enough along are used for a release.

I mean they have the full line of Vor: The Maelstrom minis available. A game that died with FASA twenty years ago. Dudes are straight up dedicated to the cause and we're lucky for that.

People still buy those minis and even play the game from talking to one of the customers.

I think that Atlas is supposed to be from the HBS PC game.

But yes, I agree.

Nope, the new art was done for Legends and it was made available to IWM to produce the mini from it. The distro release has the H and H2 in it. Than a web only release will be of the Devilin stone variant.

Not quite how the answer abou gave went.  The mech is from HBS, used in the House Arano SB with a record sheet showing a stock Atlas II image, and the lay out is different enough from the other Atlas IIs that the torso and IIRC both arms would be different than the previously used model.

Unless abou started working at Ironwind in the last few months, or was otherwise involved in designing the new art, I feel like we have a pretty good idea of who is more likely to be correct on that front.

Wow... that escalated. ???

I was just mistaken as I didn't realize it was a resculpt rather than a variant.

I still think the best Atlas II is the custom version that was made by Michael Holzapfel for the GenCon diorama.

BTW, I am anxiously awaiting news on some fan funded stuff. So fingers crossed.

Apologies, the HBS was D-HT rather than D2- I had them confused.  IF the D-HT was being released, it would have required a different torso and arms as I said.

I am very excited to see the Raider! I don't remember but you can make either variant? For sure will need two upon release.

Lots of good stuff in the update, thank you Speck!

Very cool news, I will definitely have to get one of those.

Sweet, does that mean IWM will get the Savage Wolf artwork for a release in the future as well?

It could be possible, but since that is just new art I do not know if there is a 3D base model for it.

Is the new Phoenix archer scaled to the recent emphasis on 1:265? Were older project phoenix sculpts at 1:265?

While I can't answer your question about scaling, the new Phoenix Archer (ARC-9W) looks great compared to both the old Phoenix Archer (ARC-8M) and the new Classic plastic sculpt from the kickstarter (ARC-2R).
