Need help identifying tanks
« on: 02 July 2018, 21:32:27 »
I was wondering if anyone knew what these presumably heavy tanks are? My best guess with a Patton but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Particularly, they're the Succession Wars era model of Striker.  The 3058 upgrade looks just a little bit different.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

And maybe, just maybe, a Vedette in the foreground.

Like it didn't do anything between 3026 and 3058 but eat cake.  ;D

I was wondering if they might be Schreks last night but I couldn’t tell if they actually had three barrels or if that was a muzzle brake. It also threw me off because there appears to be an SRM 6 on the side of the turret.

The artwork for the Schrek also has that setup- I've always presumed it's smoke grenade launchers, like you see on real-world MBTs- with no use in-game, of course.

The tank in the foreground is not a Vedette- they have that weird turret set up- IMO figure its a Scorpion . . .

. . . which also falls into line since this looks like its using HBS graphics.

The two big tanks look very much like Schreks to me too. The tripple barrel is a little hard to make out, but the front glacis is Schrek all the way.

The smaller tank in the foreground is much harder to identify. Scorpion seems like as good a guess as any, although I guess it could also be a Vedette with most of the strange double tier hull hidden below the bottom of the image.

The smaller tanks in the foreground are indeed scorpions. I’m on mobile right now but I’ll post the full picture for reference when I get home tonight.

One of the computer games, methinks. Yes, the Shreck barrels are easy to merge.

Schreks, Strikers, & Scorpions, oh my.

That isn't an SRM6,  if you look at the original 3026 drawing its actually on the side (rear) of the turret & not sticking out facing front.

My guess is some sort of heatsink port or something for the PPC's.
