Sorry, no, it's just for New Year's Eve. Sunday Night Football is still decent in the ratings - though football in general is down 9% share this year! - and the NFL will continue the format.

"A loss to the Chargers in Week 13 also made the Browns 1–27 in their first 28 games under Hue Jackson (making Jackson the worst percentage debut coach of all-time), surpassing the 1976–1977 Buccaneers for the worst 28 game start (2–26) for a regime in NFL history."

That's...damned impressive, certainly.  Considering they won four games in total if you add the entire 2015 season in as well...

YEEEEEEEAH BUDDY!  First time since '99, too.  I watched the Bills beat the Fish, and then I got to watch the end of the Bengals/Raven game and that was a nail-biter!

Well seems like I can also go back and check my predictions at this point.

Quote
NFC West-Seattle.  Mostly because it has to be someone
NFC North-Vikings.  Packers just seem to be having too many issues and everyone else is questionable at best
NFC South-Tampa.  This one is a toss up but again it has to be someone
NFC East-Dallas.  Dak has shown he is something they can work with and they can protect him and protect their leads

Wild cards-Philidelphia and Green Bay

AFC West-Kansas City.  Denver still hasn't sorted out all their issues, Chargers are going to be a train wreck having moved to a new city, and Oakland is going to be too busy trying to get moved out of Oakland to do anything else
AFC North-Pittsburg.  Bungles might challenge for it but fall short.
AFC South-Indianapolis.  Another toss up that is more going to be decided by someone has to than anyone being good enough to actually deserve it
AFC East-New England.  I mean really why even pretend anyone else is going to even come close.

Wild cards-Miami and Denver

Super Bowl-New England over Dallas and me rooting for a meteor to come down and put me out of my misery.

Yeah I don't feel like it is fair calling New England to get the AFC East so I put it as blue.  Not even 50%.  Ugh.  But in my defense I don't think anyone saw how much of a monster Philly or the Rams wound up being coming.

The Rams and Vikings are the two scariest teams on the NFC side. As a Steelers fan Jacksonville scares me on the AFC side. Of course, New England is still there bully that gets the calls.

The Vikings didn't surprise me like the Eagles did.  But yeah I think the Vikings are a more rounded team that will do a bit better for it.

Yeah, I pencil Denver as third in the West this year, barring something weird happening. I'll take the Raiders to win it, with the Chiefs in a dogfight to the end and getting a wild card spot.

In fact...

AFC:

West: Oakland Er... yeah, kinda didn't see their collapse happening.
North: Pittsburgh Got that one right anyway. No one else in the division cared enough.
East: GEE I ****** WONDER... OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I PICKED THE PATRIOTS AND THEY GOT IT! ZOMG!
South: (quick Hellbie, pick someone at random) ...Tennessee? Who the ****** are the Jacksonville Jaguars? Is that an NFL team?
Wild Cards: Kansas City, Baltimore Almost called Baltimore until they stopped giving a crap at the end of their last game...

NFC:

West: Seattle I figured the Rams would be BETTER, but... wow. Very impressed.
North: Green Bay Let's be real. The Vikings looked iffy at QB, and losing Rodgers was a deathblow.
East: Washington (UPSET SPECIAL) Hey guys! I forgot how to football! Thanks for playing!
South: (again, pick at random) Atlanta This was the most competitive division this year, by far. No regrets on the wrong pick.
Wild Cards: Dallas, Carolina Still not 100% sure if it was the Elliotte suspension that killed Dallas, or just that awful O-line.

Without Wentz I don't see the Eagles winning a playoff game. I really think it will be Rams and Vikings in the NFC Championship with the Vikes moving on. Those two teams are really, really good.

Vikings have had a bit of a merry go round for starting QBs but do seem to be winning games, convincingly, and against quality opponents.

So I won't be surprised if your prediction comes true.

Want the really funny part to the Vikings?

IF they go to the Super Bowl, it's in their own house- they'd be the first team to play in their own barn for the Super Bowl... BUT. It's the AFC's turn to 'host'. That means the Vikings, despite being at home, are the 'away' team and have to wear the away uniform. It also means the Vikings, theoretically, would use the 'away' locker room- not their own, which would be in use by the AFC team (though I suspect rules would be bent in that case)!

The vikes in the playoffs at all is super bothersome logistically to the NFL since they don’t fully turn over the keys to the stadium until after the run is over (if it ends at all). The very real possibility of the eagles messing around and losing means  the NFC championship game could be in Minnesota, which I believe is unprecedented

Regardless my sister in law works in the building where espn is anchoring their coverage so I’m going to get a livestream of how much the whole experience sucks for everyone who isn’t there for the game

I wish I would have been able to rent my mpls condo out for the superbowl but the association had strict rules against that.  However my hunch is that my current renters are going to take a two week vacation in January and February and my association board is going to be calling me about the beer bottles being thrown from my deck into the pool...

Well. I was ready to give up on the Titans at halftime.

Glad I didn't. That was a hell of a comeback. (Mariota passing to himself for a TD was memorable as hell)

The funny thing about the Mariota play was that maybe ten years ago, #57, who was giving chase before the pass, would have at minimum shoved Mariota to the ground. With the more stringent roughing the passer enforcement he instead only received a token nudge and was still standing to make the crazy player

Looking at the replays, its a valuable lesson for some of the players that the play isn't over until the whistle blows.

On the other hand, if that Chiefs player had actually shoved Mariota to the ground, you can bet the house Jeff Triplette would have called it roughing the passer.

I loved Triplette announcing after the game that he was retiring. I doubt it was HIS idea to do so.

Side note, I was considering seppuku by the time Bills/Jags ended. That game was awful.
