Title: Palladium Books news.
Post by: MOrab46019 on 02 March 2012, 02:35:55
If you like the look of the unseen mechs from Battletech. Palladium Books are thinking of making Robotech minis. That would allow us old players and new that miss the unseen mechs a chance to use them again in Battletech. I figuer posting here would be a good thing.

What does "thinking about" mean in this context?  "Man, it's too bad we'll never make Robotech miniatures.  It would be awesome if we did!"

Do you have a link, or are you serving as primary source on this one?

Any idea as to scale, materials? If they did such a thing, it would be brilliant business acumen to make them cbt compatible to take advantage of the market.

though truth to tell, most stompy robot miniature makers seem to do it in about the same size

A little looking and here we go. Looks more like there still in the considering stage. Could be good and bad, good they make miniatures, bad they may want to make sure they have all the rights, so may bring on the lawyers to stop anyone else from even thinking of using them.

Looking at the pics on their FB page I am going to say they are going to be close enough to use, at least for the warhammer and rifleman.  The battlepods showing a a bit larger... O0

Here is an original post of the fellow who may be doing the miniatures line.  If it pans out...well, welcome back some of the best (or at least most recognizable) heavies and lights of the game.

EDIT--For whatever reason, the link didn't take; here it is again.

For the record, nothing is being sold or offered for sale...other than to companies that have the rights for usage well in-hand.

"Mech scale SDF-1, anyone?

Also, the "Thanks John Paulson and others ... sculptors needed!" comes across with a good dose of  ???

I'm afraid I have allot of doubt about Palladium's ability to carry this off properly.

So is this being carried on with Robotech Battles people or is this separate that Palladium is doing?
