Not sure from memory if I have WW #6, but the others should be in my collection. However, you will have to wait for the second weekend in September, currently I'm 600 klicks away from home.
Besides most WW issues, I have the following German stuff sitting on my shelf:
- Life Support (MFG 1) Issues 3,4, 6-8 (of 8 )
- Terra Post (MFG 3) Issues 8-11 in print and 1-25 downloaded as GIF copies (of 30+ and ongoing, I'm told - not a MFG member)
- Warrior's Guide (Nice Dice e.V. BattleTech AG, inofficial fan work) issues 7, 10, 18, 19, 21, 22
- The Inner Sphere Chronicle - Neues aus dem BattleTech-Universum (inofficial fan work) issues 1-3

The MFG 2 magazine, MechQuartely, is very elusive. I'm told four issues were made, but never saw any one of them.

I just bought Heavy Battle #4 and #8. Notice that #8 was meant to be almost a myth. I'll let you know what I can glean from those; Jal, there'll be a message in your PM box about another product.

Frabby, for your wiki, check out MechForce Germany's magazine listing, it is most informative.

Tales of the BW was different in its German iteration? You know, I never stopped to check... something to do for next week! [drool]

TerraPost is now at #31, awaiting #32 soon.

Jal, what you are doing here is incredibly, incredibly important. Where are you/we (Frabby, other Krauts like me) up to in terms of coming to grips with German material?

StarDrive 1/1 gave a full explanation for the name change in the preface. They had a falling out with FASA, but the publishers went bust after that issue, anyway.

The StarTrek Wiki (dare I say) has an excellent entry for the StarDate magazine. What is important to note for volume 3 is the sub-title of issues 5 and 6: "Your Official BattleTech Connection" - which it was at the time.

I think there's a mix-up with the MFUK miniatures listing.

AFAIK, MFUK originally produced their miniatures by themselves.

A few years after MFUK went under, RalPartha UK picked up some of the miniatures and presented them in a cleaned up iteration.

I ordered some last Sunday, which was the last day they were available. They've gone offline now, due to legal technicalities.

The Ral Partha stuff was:

MFUK001 - Mad Cat KH
MFUK002 - Warmmer WD
MFUK003 - Dreadnought
MFUK004 - Catapult K2 (RS 3039)
MFUK005 - Hades
MFUK006 - Rifleman II
MFUK007 - JagerMech IIC
MFUK008 - Hydra
MFUK009 - Katyusha
MFUK010 - Templar
MFUK011 - Tree Frog
MFUK012 - Falcon Eyrie
MFUK013 - VARIANT Weapons Pack #1
MFUK014 - VARIANT Weapons Pack #2

Technically, due to the clean-up, those are different to the MFUK originals; that is splitting hairs though. What is not splitting hairs is that Axman, Yen-Lo-Wang, both Highlanders, and Mackie ( :'( - the MFUK version looked just like the SL book one and seems to have been an original sculpt...) were never on sale by RPUK.

The "MFUK0xx" numbers above were the RPUK catalogue nos.

MechForce Germany has 2 official member 'Mech miniatures.

AFAIK, they also sold some kitbashes through their webstore about a decade ago, which have long disappeared. Should I go poking about those?

I saw them on Ebay, went to check my bookshelf, found I didn't have #8. Then I checked the MFG site and saw 8 was an extremely sought-after item. Went back to Ebay... and somebody beat me to the punch.

So it was you!  :)

Bad week for me - I also managed to miss the end of an auction for 2 issues of the MFNA 'Mech magazine by 2 minutes.

Jymset, I need to borrow your magazine collection at some point. I don't actually collect these fringe products or want to own them, I just want to write up Sarna.net BTW articles about their content from first-hand sources. To think how much money I already spent on Ebay and games cons hunting them down...

If you are looking to include the stock numbers of Ral Partha miniatures, I have a ClarisWorks (.CWK format) file that has the stock numbers of miniatures that were available prior to 2000.  Some of these stock numbers are still valid at Iron Wind Metals.  [Unseen miniatures excepted, of course...]

The MFG 2 magazine, MechQuartely, is very elusive. I'm told four issues were made, but never saw any one of them.

  • complete set of Life Support
  • no idea about my print collection of TerraPost, but access to just about all issues
  • no Warrior's Guide or IS Chronicles - or indeed WunderWelten
  • firm belief that MechQuarterly was a myth :P
  • Heavy Battle 4, 8

Jymset, I need to borrow your magazine collection at some point.

I assume you'd be more interested in my English mags? I'd be hugely curious perusing your WW collection - the 50-issue run + the fact that it wasn't BT-centric at all completely daunted me into never collecting it.

Actually, I'm interested in anything that I don't have scanned or sitting on my shelf. For the record, I have the following English magazines and paraphernalia:
  • Complete BattleTechnology collection (minus the binders, and some bits cut out of issue 0203 by some idiot)
  • Complete set of Nova Game Books
  • Complete set of Blackthorne BattleTech & BattleForce comics (assuming BF #3 was never published)
  • Complete set of Fallout comics, minus the Gold Edition of Issue #1
  • Inbound (MFUK scenario)
  • Best of Future Wars vol. 1

I also have Heavy Battle issues 3-6 (forgot to include them in the list above).

I have fourteen binders of Battletech magazines.  I've considered scanning them now that I have a functional scanner, but little things like legalities and the fact the my scanner likes to turn things sideways and upside down stop me.

Since many minis were issued with multiple stock numbers, it would be a daunting task.  Right now I'm only concerned with the current stock number, or the last one it held if the mini is OOP.

Jal, what you are doing here is incredibly, incredibly important. Where are you/we (Frabby, other Krauts like me) up to in terms of coming to grips with German material?

If one or more of you guys would like to put together a list of the German language products, I'd gladly incorporate it onto the spreadsheet.  I do have my own German product list, but my spelling is atrocious and I'm not as good with the punctuation and accent marks.  I'd like it to be proper.

I'd like to hold off on any non-English magazines unless they have a very heavy Battletech focus, like the MFG stuff.  I'm trying to decide whether I should put them into the Magazines or the Foreign Language section.

I'm currently working on inputting all the FPG decals, which is very tricky since Brian has a whole lot more available than is on the FPG website.  Once that is finished I'll post an updated file, with the few extra minor changes I've made since posting this one.

The aspect of scanning something 20 years out of print by a publisher 20 years defunct does lead into interesting legal grey zones, does it not?

I know that the rare (and more/longer defunct) the publication is, the more interesting the scan would be. Oh my.

As far as the German zines are concerned, you're definitely looking at the three MFG publications (8 issues Life Support, MFG1; 4 issues MechQuarterly <aka "the myth">, MFG2; 31 and ongoing issues TerraPost, MFG3) as well as the Heavy Battle, which apparently is completely BT-centric.

On top of that, listing WunderWelten is almost a must: it was the FanPro in-house magazine, so any BT content would've been as close as official as anything on the German zine market.

Frabby, could you send me a mail? Just as a reminder to have a look at my magazine bits-n-pieces as well as getting some synergy going for that list for Jal.

I just wanted to second this.  The sort of mass sharing of the spreadsheet here is exactly what Google docs is good at.

I don't have a lot of experience with Google docs.  I might look into it and see what kind of stuff it can do.  I tend to stick with one program once I'm happy with it, and Open Office works pretty well for me.

Well the spreadsheet app will do everything you're using a spreadsheet for here.  You can even import excel/OO sheets into the google doc, and once you do that, it'll be the same using it vs open office for what you're doing.

(I mean, it's not like you're doing math or making graphs here ... and even if you were, I've seen some nice stuff done in google's spreadsheet app)

Is this still being updated?

On the Google Docs bit, I just uploaded the last update from the site and converted it into Google spreadsheet, and it seems to be just fine.

Thanks to anyone who has contributed to this at any point, its an amazing resource.

Currently, the Battlecorps Fiction, CCG and MWDA/AoD sections are not complete.  The CCG I believe only needs the Unlimited Edition cards added, and the MWDA game needs some of the boxed sets, and a little extra data here and there.  The BC Fiction is a tough one.  I'm still working on a way to format it so it makes sense, as well as a good listing of what's been published to date.  The current tab is kind of garbled and incomplete.

I have not input the Outrider bags yet, before anyone asks.

All contributions are welcome, but please keep in mind a few things:

1 - This list is for official or licensed products only.  No fan-made stuff, no unofficial knock-offs, no prototypes, no vaporware.

2 - If you have something I've missed, please provide proof of its existence for verification purposes.  "Something some guy had a GenCon in 1996" isn't going to fly.  Why?  Because many of you have seen, even held, the original ComStar sourcebook.  Pics or it didn't happen!

3 - Pork!

Great document, Jal!
Suggest you update the first post, too, with the current download/attachment.

One thing strikes me as odd: You have listed the BattleCorps antologies under Novels, but the Shrapnel anthology under products. They should really be classed into either Novels or Products together. Following what I did over at Sarna BTW I tend to include the anthologies among the novels (as in: print fiction), but YMMV of course.

Got another entry for your "Unlicensed and Fan Magazines" section:

Publisher: Croftward Ltd.
Title: G.M. Magazine "The Independant Roleplaying Magazine"
Issue: Issue 2 (October 1988)
Year: 1988
Original Retail: 1.20 GBP
Content: Review of all early BattleTech products
Notes: Review covered (deep breath) BattleTech 2nd Ed., CityTech, AeroTech, BattleForce, Succession Wars, BattleTech Reinforcements, MechWarrior RPG (1st Ed), House Liao, Kurita, Marik & Steiner  source books, Mercenary's handbook, BattleTech Manual, Dropships and Jumpships, TR:3025, TR:3026, Camo Specs, Sorenson's Sarbes, The Fox's Teeth, Tales of the Black Widow, Cranston Snord' Irregulars, Saga of the Gray Death Legion, The Galtor Campaign, McCarron's Armored Cavalry (review of an unreleased product - review said this was going to be two separate books for the roleplaying game, one for the unit and the other for the "role playing and battle campaign"), The Spider and The Wolf, Shrapnel, Map Sets 1 & 2, Blueprints, and the first four novels (Gray Death Legion trilogy and The Sword and The Dagger), plus Twentieth Century Imports model kits. Also mentioned the following upcoming products - House Davion and Periphery source books, Rolling Thunder scenario set and first two novels in the Warrior trilogy.

http://rpggeek.com/rpgissue/83800/g-m-magazine-issue-2-oct-1988

The ninth issue of G.M. Magazine also reviewed some BattleTech books (at least, according to the front cover image at:
http://rpggeek.com/image/606986/g-m-magazine-issue-9-may-1989), but as I don't have that magazine, I can't provide any further details.
