What are you doing with your 2 elemental points?

What do y'all plan on doing with the 2 elemental points that come with the upcoming Clan Invasion box? The only mixed star that I can find that uses 2 elemental points is the Snow Raven R-Team but then I'm kind of at a loss as to how to represent the techs. Would really like to make a Hell's Horses nova so I guess I'll be adding on for a separate elemental star but that still leaves the question of what to do with the points in the box.

I am going to take them off their bases and then put them on 3 bases (3 Suits x 3 Bases) for an Elemental Un (Society formation). I might also mess with their launchers if I feel like it.

One set as part of a Second Line Command Star in the Wolf Forces I'm assembling out of my haul.

The other one, and one of my salvage boxes, are just earmarked to be painted as random wolves, no org unit.

While I know the wolves often do a 4 mech 1 ba point command star, it's not how I prefer to employ Battle Armor, so it's awkward getting two standalone points for me.

Debating getting another full star of Elementals so I can nova one of my faster Wolf Stars there.

I'm using 2 pts to make a Goliath Scorpion Stinger star. Since I'll be getting 2 Clan Invasion boxes (double pledging), not sure what to do with the other 2 pts. I might just trade them away.

This, just because they're supposed to come in groups of 5, and you don't get enough Elementals for the price of a box.

To go slightly offtopic, the kickstarter bonus should have been 5 points just to keep things canon, and the Elemental box set should have been 10-15 points. There's less plastic in Elementals than a mech model, and it's a single mold instead of five so economies of scale and simplified box assembly kick in. If they came in larger amounts I think most people would buy a box or two and keep them intact, instead of carving up the 2 bonus points into all the BA you'll ever need.

I'm thinking i'll get some metallic "elemental"-series BA to go with the box set Elementals. Say, 2x Gnome, Salamander, Undine, Sylph each. And also one or two Elemental Star Packs.

This would conveniently also cover pretty much all of my favorite Clan battle armors, with only the Rabid (Clan Medium Battle Armor) missing.

Honestly though, I think I'm gonna base them and paint them up in a neutral scheme. That way they can serve in several of my Clan Forces rather than be dedicated to any 'one' Clan.

A lot's gonna depend what my Legendary random draw mech ends up being.

*IF* it ends up being Kerensky or Pryde?  I'm fine.  That plus the two salvage mechs will leave me with 5 points at least.  Probably a 'bid down' sort of star situation for sure, but perfectly viable 5 points.

*IF* it ends up being one of the two IS people?  Um... I guess I've just got two extra points of Elementals for something.  Again, probably using in bid down sorts of situations, but still a tad annoying for having a full formation worth of stuff.  But having them is better than not IMHO!

CGL mentioned a couple of times that they're afraid of losing money on the elemental packs, so clearly there's some additional overhead there

I suspect that fear would be of not selling enough boxes to cover the fixed costs in creating them, not from the price point being too low for the included minis. Elementals just aren't as in demand as mechs are.

They'd be in a similar situation with half the mech minis if they sold them individually. Selling in packs is a way to simplify production by guaranteeing minimum sales across all minis in a pack, at the cost of a few lost sales of the most popular ones. It just requires balancing the popular/unpopular mechs in a box.

I mean I’d always be willing to trade to acquire some: some of the Star Packs seem to have some odd Mechs I dont think I’d ever use like idk the Arctic Cheetah? Or the Hunstman... the rest of the pack I’d use... but those would sit next to my Whitworth’s, Cyclops, and Chargers... okay I might use the Charger once in a blue moon.

 . . . you do not use the Huntsman?  I mean the A & H are extremely solid machines.  The Arctic Cheetah is a great scout, and with certain configs becomes a scout hunter or light combatant.

Even the less solid configurations on the Nobori-Nin are still pretty effective, and the Hankyu is possibly the all-around best light omnimech used by the Clans.

Just popped over to IWM and they sell Salamanders and Gnomes in packs of 3? I guess I am cursed to just have a leftover BA after I put the star together :///

Also, I really wish IWM included pictures with mechs etc so I could have a better idea as to the scale.
