none of the specific agreements between cgl and iwm are public knowledge. we won't know what's what until we start seeing minis on a release schedule (or don't, which is equally telling)

This is the most important post in this thread, if not the entire minis section of this forum.

Why not?  If the new Thor Prime is only available in plastic, what's wrong with the new Thor B being only available in metal?
Sorry.  I meant I don't see the point in IWM making metal Variant bits for a plastic mini that they can't make the entire mini of.

Then again, I'm a Collector, and the VAST majority of my assembled/painted minis came that way.  I either bought them outright or commissioned them.  I've NO idea how difficult it is to get metal bits to stay attached to plastic, or vice versa.  Is it as easy as just using Zap-a-Gap, superglue, or whatever the preferred glue is?  Is pinning required to ensure the bits stay attached?  I don't now the answers to any of that.   :-\
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

This 10000 % And the all the other boxes as well! I am also half expecting IWM to do the remaining OST mechs!  >:D
After seeing a pic of the KS minis, yeah, I think they could Probably re-do all the other old "Unseen" Lance Box Sets as well!

Its totally valid that CGL want's their share of the market for the new plastic boxes. But not everyone wants to buy lances, stars or Level IIs to get that one single mech they want. So beside CGLs plastic sets there is still a market for IWM. And i hope this will be opened in the next year(s).

I put the primitive Emperor together last night . . . I have to say again, that is just a real sharp looking mini.  I had a hard time even finding mold seams to file down, it went together really simply and even with both feet solidly on the hex base it still looks like its in action.  I will have to see how much I can change it up for my 2nd mini, might have to get some help cutting the leg to have it bent for a walking/running pose.

I do fine the primitives to be bit above par among the mini we've gotten in the past.

The Dark Age minis are unsurprisingly on the same level . . . anything IMO is better than some of the intricate Phoenix problems.  It honestly makes me excited for when IWM can start doing the KS minis in metal, especially with the Omni variants.

But it does raise the question . . . are the old Omnis & parts going to be retired?

Why would they? The original Omni minis still are being sold, they're just online-only. One would assume the resculpts would be available the same way once superceded, in retail, by newer sculpts. As long as there's life in the masters/molds they're worth making available.

Basically the Archive was that they were in storage, you paid the extra price for them having to get them out of storage . . . I think it was not exactly easy/on site.  Now with their expanded facility of a few years ago they had easier access and no longer charge the archive price.  Which is great, since my FLGS now orders direct from IWM due to distributor games- my requests to them to backfill some units I want to build have archived mechs added to the order.  Right now I have at least 6 archived mechs on my 'want' list.  Before the expansion of their facility they offered a poll on here and the top 5 choices would be pulled from archive for the month to be made w/o the archive fee- I know I placed a order when the Emperor 6A made the cut.

I loved the poll b/c it was great to read people's reasons and trying to persuade others to vote for their picks.

Because my Collection is "Complete" regarding older minis (as far as I'M concerned) , I'd often vote to help other people out.

I seldom placed an order for a "Archived" mini.

I would hope that IWM would be able to do variants of the following:
Locust
Commando
Griffin
Wolverine
Catapult
Thunderbolt
Awesome
Battlemaster
We already have the shadow hawk although a 3050 shadow hawk 3M would be the bomb!

When could we expect a 2020 release schedule?  I ask simply b/c I do not remember when in the year they release it . . . I have been building a lot of my metal minis that have been waiting so I can move on to new projects . . .

Quick question for anyone that knows . . . does the No-Dachi 3X has those missile launchers as optional parts?  I want to make a -2KO and not having to cut off the missile pods would be nice.

Assuming that means what I think it means...

I'm still unlikely to get them. I got two of the AGOAC box, and that's enough of those mechs for most forces/opposition. I have a total of seven wolverine of various generation.

Now if they have variant parts I might consider some of them, but even then I'd give it less than a one in three chance.

I need to update my old Wolverine thread photo . . .

unseen Wolverine 6R
Wolverine 8K
Wolverine II 7H
Wolverine 3R
Classic Wolverine 6R
Wolverine 7M (3R convert)

Not a fan of the 8K skinny but it was a Phoenix thing, might have to take a 2nd 6R to make it a 8K.  Or get another wonderful -3R and make it a 7K with it dual SRM shoulder racks.  We need a -7K2, give it a Snub instead of that Large Pulse.
