The following thread is for errata as found in the Interstellar Operations Open Beta Test: Strategic BattleForce PDF.

Before making a post to this Errata thread, please first have it reviewed and discussed in the Discussion thread. Some things that might strike as being worth errata are actually very deliberate inclusions to the rules.

Please note, you MUST follow the errata format as described in this thread. Specifically, this thread is NOT for discussion...use the "Discussion" thread for that work.

And If I may, I'll put in a shameless plug for any copy edit errata.

If you find an obvious grammatical issue, go ahead and report it here.

BeemerCon Summarized. Knightmare, end of turn: "How come none of my weapons fired?"
Look, dude, when you are a real mechwarrior you don't need to get all dressed up in cooling suits and cool helmets to work on your mech. You just strip down to your 1980s panties and crop top vest and start wrenchin' it.

p4 Step 2: Detection and Reconnaissance Phase:
Error: "The player who won initiative+winner goes first when conducting recon."
Correction: "The player who won initiative winner goes first when conducting recon."
It's not about winning or losing, no it's all about how many chapters have you added to the rule books after your crazy antics.

Page 10, Step 2: Determining Range. Second paragraph.

The paragraph starts by talking about the Maneuver Roll and ends talking about the Movement Roll.

This should be made consistent.

Pg2, Formation Stat Block:
Type: Whether the Formation is classified as Aerospace,
BattleMechs, Infantry, Mobile Structures, ProtoMechs, or Vehicles.
If there is no predominant Unit Type within a ground Formation,
the Formation Type will be Mixed Ground.

Recommend:
Type: Whether the Formation is classified as Aerospace,
BattleMechs, Infantry, Mobile Structures, ProtoMechs, or Vehicles,
if there is no predominant Unit Type within a ground Formation,
the Formation Type will be Mixed Ground.

Developer Errata-

On page 36, Step 3c: Determine Formation Type Modifier (TM)

Change "TM" to"TMM" in all instances

Replace the entire first paragraph with the following.
Quote
For each Unit average the MP of all the Elements in the Unit and consult the Target Modifier Table, applying any appropriate modifiers.

In the third sentence "The final result is the Unit’s TM. Once you have the TMs of all Units within the Formation, average them together to find the Formation’s TM", add "rounding normally" to the end of the sentence.

Developer Errata

Pg 29- Replace first paragraph (determining JUMP value) with the following:
Quote
JUMP Value: To determine a Unit’s SBF JUMP value first add together the Jump MP of each Element in the Unit (an Element with no Jump MP would be a 0). Average this total together, do not round. Finally divide the average by 2, rounding normally. So an Inner Sphere Unit with two PNT-10k Panther (MP 4j) and 2 SCB-9T Scarabus, (MP 10) would have a JUMP value of 1 (Add jump MP 4+4+0+0=8. Average total, 8 ÷ 4=2 and divide this value by 2, 2 ÷ 2=1).
