Royal Sentinel - what would you use for the gauss?
« on: 03 May 2018, 12:52:28 »
I've been thinking of kitbashing a Royal Sentinel for a while. Using green stuff to cover up the missile launcher is trivial, but I can't quite decide what I want to do for the Gauss Rifle in the left arm.

Considering that the Gauss Rifle is over 1/3 of the mass of the Mech, I was actually thinking of using the left arm of a Mad Cat Mk II, something totally out of proportion.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Do you have any MWDA you have chopped up for parts?  DA figures' guns are easily outsized for the 'big' look while having some detail.

Just use some bras or plastic tube over the standard cannon.

I wouldn't worry about making it look like it's over 1/3 the mass of the 'Mech. The UAC/5 is just shy of 1/4 the mass and it doesn't appear that way. Maybe try a Toyama left arm for something larger. I wouldn't put the shield on it and I think that would mean adding a little detail to cover the attachment point. Something as simple as a small rectangle of plastic would work.

Or put the shield perpendicular like the MWO Cicada.
