Very true...but fighting for Liao from what it seems, that dated of a mech with that dated weaponry would be well out classed, especially if this really is the "emperor's" mech

Very true...but fighting for Liao from what it seems, that dated of a mech with that dated weaponry would be well out classed, ...

1) EMP-6A Emperor is not a bad 'Mech. Its LBX-10 Autocannons and Large Lasers hit as hard as they have always done. (unless you meet some brand new enemy unit with some new fancy armor)

2) Considering that all factions use many vehicles, LBX Autocannons are still handy.

3) Critseeking weapons are still useful. THR-C4 Thunder opens enemy 'Mechs with its large Thunderbolt missile and Emperor can critseek freely.

... especially if this really is the "emperor's" mech

4) MechWarriors from some elite units such as the Dragon's Claws has kept their old family 'Mechs, even though they were offered to switch to modern machines.

5) Perhaps Sun-Tzu Liao (if that's his 'Mech) likes his old ride. I believe that Coordinator Takashi Kurita piloted Grand Dragon, even though his realm produced upgraded Atlas.

6) The Field Manual: Capellan Confederation explicitly says that the Warrior House Fujita uses copper-gold colour on their 'Mechs; on top of that it mentions that the Emperor is one of their signature 'Mechs.

You are right...I'm at work and was looking at the wrong Record Sheet when I said that. The EMP-6A would still be an effective unit to pilot. I think I was looking at the EMP-5A when I said that. Sorry

Just a thought: Why waste a costly modern Mech on the ruler? His personal ride is going to stand around unused in the Mech Bay most of the time anyways. You can also exploit it as a showcase how traditional minded your Chancellor is and save money in the process.

Because the Liao's won't be upstaged by Hanse Davion when he charged in to battle at the NIAS location while it was under seige by the Death Commandos (iirc) on New Avalon with his Battlemaster which at the time...was the best there was! lol

Yep...two long months...

Knowing what is in the pipeline....part of me wonders if once the powers that be pull the trigger on the next product, then we are going to get new releases on a regular basis to get caught up?  A flood of new Battletech?

Hey, I am an optimist :)

Would be nice there is a lot to look forward too. I was wondering where does the xtro series stand right now? There has been talk the gunslingers was next and we know that a Republic one should be coming as it was mention in FM 3145 and TRO 3145 but that has been it.

I personally just want to see something soon been a loooong two months.

And yet not so long ago, there was a four-to-six month gap between products.

Patient I keep hearing this word, but not sure what it means. If it means that as soon as I want something that I get it then I can be patient. ;D

Becuase no matter what "its never soon enough".
If you kicked out a product every week, some people would say that is still not fast enough.

Just be happy there are people waiting with wallets open ready to buy, if we wern't then be afraid.

He's referring to a Republic XTRO, not the Republic 3145 TRO.

For those of you wondering what the BT release schedule has been like since 2009, the attached spread sheet should answer a few questions.

Though we may not be experiencing the giddy heights of 2010, we a certainly not living in the quite days of pre-PDF only releases.

its just the steady pace we were getting with the 3145 TROs that had it feeling like there was a constant stream of new material. now shock's setting in, now that that buffer is depleted.

The third guy is certainly interesting.  However, I think the artist got the image of Khan Alaric Ward-Steiner mixed up with this Federated Suns character. I swear its same image used for Alaric.  Another confusing thing is the collar device, its a US Marine symbol.  What the heck.
