T.J. Hooker (William Shatner and Sharon Stone)
Cagney & Lacey (I remember seeing it on TV alot when I was a kid)
Hill Street Blues (I remember seeing it on TV alot when I was a kid)

Well to be fair, Simon and Simon were PIs as well.  and Jim Rockford was a PI as well.  Not to say that I didn't like those shows a lot.

True, S &S were also PI's, but for rockford he worked WITH his cop dad..

Oh I remember watching Due South a few times. Not bad... There was also one similar that was out of the 70s 1985 I guess where an American Cop went over to Briton. Dempsy and Makepeace.  Lasted 1 season.

I was trying to remember the name of that, but for the life of me, couldn't.  There was also another good show in the 80s, i liked but it was more spy stuff, than 'buddy cops'..  Scarecrow and Ms king..

Not really.  A) because she really wasn't "Buddied" with anyone, and B) she was more of a investigator, not cop..

Plus, Jessica Fletcher was the killer all along.

T.J. Hooker (William Shatner and Sharon Stone)

Do you mean Heather Locklear? Sharon Stone guest starred in just one episode of T. J. Hooker which was a failed backdoor pilot for a show to star her. And she wasn't Hooker's partner in that episode.

Almost forgot one for which I would watch reruns of the (1967) tv series and also loved the (1987) movie...

Rockford's Dad, Rocky, was a retired truck driver.  There was another guy on the force that played the classic cop role of "stay out of this Jim, let the police handle it" can't remember his name at the moment.

One season in Canada only near twenty years ago. The premisse was pretty good but the title was a total mess. :)

Disclaimer: I haven't seen these since I was a kid.

From 80's TV...
Rip Tide
Miami Vice
Simon and Simon
Cover Up

Only 1 cop show but the rest are "crime fighters".

Yeah, I love The Rockford Files as much as anyone and probably more than most (I have them on DVD) but it wasn't a buddy cop show at all.  He had Rocky, his dad; Becker; and Angel, his former cellmate, but it was pretty much just him on the show.

Almost Human.

Great Sci-fi series with Karl Urban. But it was aired out of order on Fox, and only lasted 1 season (#@$!%#^# fox).
No-Dachi has a counter-argument. Nothing further? Ok.

Rockford files was a P.I. show, not a buddy cop show.

and technically P.I. in the first too (in the later seasons), but only one half of the duo.

Depends, the secondaries in Castle could be a buddy cop show all on their own. Would make for a good Castle spin-off

Technically then Knight rider doesn't count as Michael wasn't a cop..  Neither was KITT.

Forgot one...K-9

Helps that my mom used to work at a police dog training school and her boss was a technical advisor for the movie.

Yep, I think that they did a great job of giving it a real "retro" feel, with authentic locations, vehicles, clothes and props. Even making the effort to film it in the old 4:3 aspect ratio  ^-^

Kinda like how the cops were in Super Troopers. Seemed like friends with each other outside of work.
