As a nod to the original dougram art that led to the Scorpion...
All I did was switch to a large laser to mount the grenade launchers and machine gun. This is... almost compliant with the description of Wendall Puritan's Scorpion in the MechWarrior computer game, though the "mortars" are single shot rather than "autoloading". And it matches the dougram art. You could describe it as a Scorpion trying to be a more general use platform rather than the long range skimisher it is. If you wanted to draw a link between the Mechwarrior computer game and the canon stats for Puritan's Scorpion, you could also say that Puritan eventually decided to ditch the machine gun and grenade launchers for more armor protection.
Another possible modification (which might match another piece of Fasa era art) would be to swap the machine gun and ammunition for a medium laser.
