Story Arcs in 50?

Hi all, looking for some advice or insight.

I was holding off on trying story arcs until the new version came out (50).  I just got to the second battle (Diversion?) and dropped into the megamek, but it didn't setup the OpFor (or rather partially set it up).  It looks like it is setup to randomly generate forces in megamek, but it doesn't. See attached screen shot from MekHQ. Did I miss something on how to get these forces generated?

When I get into Megamek it recognizes the second force, calls it the eyrie cluster, assigns it as a bot... but no BV or units are assigned.  I'm wondering if the handoff to it didn't work from story arc?

Or do I need to just go generate the force manually?  I could do that, but I just thought it might auto-generate the random force based on the inputs..
Or is it failing maybe to generate the force? My average weight is probably a bit over 50 tons, so if its trying to double the weight (see image) it may not be able to?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

It should randomly generate the force. I've had some problems myself with my custom scenarios where it would fail to generate the OpFor when using those dialogs. Most of the time it works without a hitch, and then sometimes it will drop into MegaMek and not generate anything, and I've not quite figured out what triggers it yet.

Thanks, good to know i am not alone. Worked perfectly on the first mission (though that was a fixed force vs random i think) but not on the second. Before filing a bug report, I wanted to rule out user error. As it is i have a save file where i can keep getting the bug (ie i can replicate it) which is usually nice in debugging.

In my 3-4 attempts I have never been able to get the random force generator to work. I chalked it up to me missing something obvious, however it looks like it's not user error?

Playing around with it a bit this morning, for custom scenarios in MekHQ (I'm not sure about Story Arcs), it seems that leaving the Focal Weight Class as Not Specified ends up generating a null force. If I change that to anything, then the bot forces are generated consistently, so that seems to be part of the issue.

Thanks that works sometimes though it seems like if you try to generate any force that's not mechs (I think) it becomes way more likely to not generate, or it generates things like VTOL in a FedSun tank force which I assume is unintended. The whole thing seems very odd, however it's nice that the force generator works sometimes rather than never, it seems very consistent only when generating mechs this will need further testing though.

That worked!  As you said (and being a bit explicit as it seems others may have the issue)-- I selected the mission in MekHQ, selected edit.
Went to other forces, and edit on them. Set focal weight to anything other than not selected, and it worked!

So at least in my specific instance, this is a valid workaround.
