Republic vs Liao on March 3, 2012

In 3091 the Republic of the Sphere sent the VIII Hastati to destroy the jungle warfare training facilities on Old Kentucky. The Sixth Confederation Reserve Cavalry had sent elements for refresher training. After most of the VIII Hastati had drawn off the defenders only the 6th CRC was available to defend the base.

The Republic sent one company of 'Mechs and a mixed company of vehicles and infantry and they were opposed by a similar force.

On turn 1 the opposing forces moved to close. The only significant result of the firing was a Raven that suffered 2 PPC hits center torso and right torso.

During turn 2 the Republic was able to fire on the buildings. A Targe was uncommonly lucky, it hit a gyro on a Yu Huang and only took some light armor damage. The Yu Huang did a face plant and just missed another crirical hit in the center torso. A Centurion and a Duan Gung were not so fortunate. The Centurion was facing a Raven, Lao Hu, Duan Gung, and an Eyleuka when it suffered an ammo hit and blew up. The Duan Gung was cored by an Atlas and 3 Condor tanks. A Regulator II charged a Thunderbolt but missed and four other tanks were immobilized.

On turn 3 a building was destroyed and one other heavily damaged. The Targe moved past the Yu Huang to target the buildings. An immobilized Condor tank was targeted by 2 Arrow IVs and survived while an immobilized Regulator II was destroyed.

Sorry no pictures but it was fun and short. If we had time for another round the buildings would have probably been destroyed. The bulk of the VIII Hastati would have been within range to shoot.

I'm not so sure, we would have had all our Arrow IV carriers to bear. Bringing those regulators out for close range combat was probably a bad idea, but I think that Targe would've died a horrible death the turn following!

Thanks for running the game!

You're welcome.

The TAGs missed a lot of 'Mechs. The Atlas was tagged but only got hit with 1 Arrow IV and the immobile Condor survived 2 Arrow IVs.
The Targe would have probably died but it got that gyro hit on the Yu Huang and would have used its MASC to hide behind the buildings.

That was a bummer getting our Yu Huang knocked down. Still good fun though.
