Speed is admittedly a bit on the low-ish side, but should be sufficient to simply redeploy from one position to the next in something approaching reasonable time. The TAG owes its presence mainly to possible self-defense needs -- the Monsoon isn't meant to fly out onto a battlefield and paint its own targets, but if it does get caught by opposition it can't easily outrun it can at least try to turn that big launcher it's carrying anyway on them in a pinch. (It should still be calling for assistance as loudly as possible while doing so, mind.) Possibly its best selling point is that it's a -- by WiGE standards -- reasonably affordable few-frills design that will still fit into any size vehicle bay. It's the "standard" model because I briefly considered an alternate configuration mounting a Thumper in the AIV's stead, but nothing's come of that so far.
Incidentally, typing this into my version of SAW resulted in a BV of 948 and a "dry" cost of 4,456,000 C-bills; the alternate values I put in by hand are from MegaMekLab. Apparently, SAW 6.82.1 (a) doesn't account for the +1 defensive modifier for being airborne when it comes to WiGEs, (b) charges double the book value in C-bills for HFF, and (c) charges 2,000 base C-bills for the single heat sink that comes "built into" the FCE; as a result, I'm going to trust MML more here.
And as usual, take the automatically generated BF stats with a grain of salt.
