Title: Technical: How do I stop receiving notifications
Post by: grimlock1 on 12 November 2017, 16:29:31
If I've commented in a thread but I'm no longer interested in the topic, how do I stop it from appearing in the "replies to your posts" list?

You don't, SMF has no way. Just hope the thread dies out or hits 50 pages so the mods lock it due to size.

You click the "unnotify" button.
Alternatively you deactivate the option to get notified for every thread you commented in in the options and simply press the notify button whenever you want to get notified by a topic.
The silly "tagged" posts are getting on my nerves anyway.

see here.
You can also deactivate it by editing your posts and simply uncheck the box.

He's not talking about email notifications, he's talking about the "Show New Replies to Your Posts" page.

You've no idea how often I've wished I could remove a thread that has gone downhill or lost my interest from that page. In theory *I* can do it by using Mjödnir to remove all posts I made in that thread, but that would be an egregious abuse of my power, a pain in the ass to the other mods, probably not allowed, and might not even work.

(Before anyone asks, I won't do it for anyone else either.)
