One entry in FM: 3145 that intrigued me was the 26th Regulan Hussars. Their entire mech battalion consists entirely of mechwarriors who own their machines. Dispossessed warriors serving in the armor and infantry of the unit get first pick of any battlefield salvage to get back in a cockpit. The Regulans regard this as an experiment. The entry does note that "Owners" from other Hussars units petition to join this one, but the 26th rejects anyone who doesn't show a spirit of teamwork.
I'd like to talk about this experiment a little bit. What are the pros and cons of this experiment, this unit?
