Same tonnage mech.  The Jager is the 70 ton variant.

Not the one I was thinking of. I was thinking of the JM6-DG, which is 65T and has decidedly less armor. The JM7's are 70T, but I don't know of any of those that mounted dual Gauss.

With the bonus of the Spezialisation a Rifleman 7M could also be nice. Stay far behind and let your LG speak.

Good call.  That's a fun Rifleman, and not horribly over-gunned or under-sinked as many.
