Designs for 'From a Ristar to a Lady'
« on: 15 December 2023, 13:54:10 »
This post is to consolidate the various designs and configs used in the fanfic 'From a Ristar to a Lady', rather than posting one here in the aerospace board, another there in the mech design section.

So first up is the Attica Space Station. Designed to be small and handy, it was used during the Age of War, but was quickly superseded by bigger space stations. Nevertheless, it continued to be used, particularly in backwaters with fewer jumpship traffic. The Attica at Inman was specifically constructed during the Star League era to support the colonisation efforts at Altoona and Delacambre.

Attica Recharge Station (2530)
Mass: 225,000 tons
Technology Base: Inner Sphere (Advanced)
Introduced: 2530
Mass: 225,000
Battle Value: 1,626
Tech Rating/Availability: D/C-E-D-D
Cost: 4,262,035,000 C-bills

Fuel: 5,000 tons (25,000)
Safe Thrust: 0
Maximum Thrust: 0
Sail Integrity: 4
Heat Sinks: 118
Structural Integrity: 1

Armor
     Nose: 12
     Fore Sides: 12/12
     Aft Sides: 12/12
     Aft: 12

Cargo
Bay 1:   Small Craft (6)   2 Doors
Bay 2:   Standard Repair Facility (Unpressurized) (130,000)   1 Door
Bay 3:   Standard Repair Facility (Pressurized) (15,000)   1 Door
Bay 4:   Cargo (5780.0 tons)   1 Door

Dropship Capacity: 1
Grav Decks: 1 (300 m)
Escape Pods: 40
Life Boats: 0

Crew: 16 officers, 74 enlisted/non-rated, 2 gunners, 30 bay personnel

Ammunition: None

Notes: Equipped with 2 Energy Storage Battery and 120 tons of standard aerospace armor.

Weapons:      Capital Attack Values (Standard)
Arc (Heat)   Heat   SRV   MRV   LRV   ERV   Class
Nose (16 Heat)
2 Large Laser   16   2(16)   2(16)   0(0)   0(0)   Laser
FRS/FLS (16 Heat)
2 Large Laser   16   2(16)   2(16)   0(0)   0(0)   Laser
ARS/ALS (16 Heat)
2 Large Laser   16   2(16)   2(16)   0(0)   0(0)   Laser
Aft (16 Heat)
2 Large Laser   16   2(16)   2(16)   0(0)   0(0)   Laser

It has some yards to service dropships and jumpships, but only up to a certain size, especially for jumpships, only Scouts and Merchants. But just having the space and the facilities doesn't mean it has the parts, and the Attica at Inman certainly doesn't have the parts, OR the expertise.

I'm seeing 718 tons unused.

Hah, I used megameklab, maybe have some problems. But underweight not a big issue - it's just more cargo space anyway!

Here're the stats for the Harvester Pirate MOD from chapter 18:

                          Internal   Armor

Weapons
and Ammo              Location  Critical   Heat    Tonnage

AC/5 Ammo (20)           RA        1        -       1.0

It’s the perfect ‘mook/goon/mob’ mech that is easily destroyed, yet still possesses some advantages over combat vehicles in the same weight class / cost. There are some similarities with the Arbiter, but this combat version was modified from Harvesters, which are plentiful throughout the Inner Sphere. All the techs would really need are: 120 rated fuel cell engine, standard cockpit, and a set of AC/5 plus ammo bin. Internals, armor, gyro remain the same.

I like the goon mech.  Assuming it's got hands, it can kick and punch to be angry up close that scorpions or vedettes can't emulate.  No machine gun, so I would load flak in these, or use fractional accounting to get some flak rounds.  A little less damage, but good for covering versus air, and its better versus infantry to shoot cluster ballistics.

Yeah. The lack of a machine gun is the only real shortcoming here.

Machine Gun is lighter, but SRMs are more flexible.
