The art is official, though possibly not absolutely-final. (I can't speak for what stage the image was at when someone leaked it, and I'm not going to do a close look to figure it out.)

It'll be the new cover of ATOW when it eventually goes back for a reprint. Still good stock of the vintage cover in the warehouse, so I have no idea when that might be, please don't ask.

While I do understand this, it hits differently when you have family that went through something similar.

I know this is a long shot, but as someone that isn’t a fan of the vintage cover, is there a way I could get a hi-res version of the org version so I can make a book cover for this edition?

He did say there are plenty of the OG cover version still available in the warehouse.

Please don't let that leaked version be absolutely final. It is...subpar. It appears to be unfinished.

Regarding "vintage cover," is that one of the ones guardiandashi posted or the 2022 revision with the reused Succession Wars art for a cover?
