AVA MANGO TWO provided me with a kit bash of his over a year ago for the MFUK Katyusha. He wanted it done up in 1st Ghost colors and wanted Katsushika Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa for the main art piece for the yakuza tattoos. Okay, i've done that once before on an unseen Archer which I have since lost the pictures for, but I figured I could do it again. And apologies to AVA, but I couldn't get into it! I'd have other projects (both commissions and CSO/CGL stuff) come up and I'd push it to the side. But he was patient and I finally decided to get into and am glad I did. I've asked around, did Google searches, double checked those, but at the end of the day, I feel the kanji's more or less correct for duty and honor on the missile launchers, while the name of the 'Mech, 大波, or Great Wave, is on the launcher doors. An 1800's love interest on the leg, standard scales with glorious golden kill markers, and we are done! Hope that you enjoy it, as I actually ended up really enjoying the creation of it!

The paint job is sheer beauty. The mech overall WT??????? just no clue as to what to make of it.

The Katyusha is originally a MechForce UK design, which means it's a lash-up of different bits made back in the 1980s.
The original Katyusha model was made from:
- Unseen Marauder torso & most of legs
- Kodiak-based arms & feet
- Missile pods from the Unseen Longbow
with a degree of interpolation (eg. the cans on the knees). I may post a pic in another thread, not to detract from Ava Mango & Savage Coyote's work.
Ava Mango appears to have used:
- BattleDroids Marauder torso, legs & feet (enhanced by 'knee cans'
- Kodiak arms
- missile pods from some other mini line.
The Katyusha was armed with an MRM in each torso, three MPLs in each arm, an MPL in each leg, and a MPL in the CT.

Ahhhh, beautiful O0 This is an amazing piece of work and such an iconic image to use. I have been 3/4 of the way up Mt Fuji, before a severe summer storm sent us back down the volcano at about 1 am. It was an... existential experience :o The fact that the paintjob on a mech is taking me back there...just wow :o. Well done!

I'm torn. Part of me wouldn't want to shoot at such an artists' canvas... then I look at that loadout and my fingers go straight to the triggers. What to do?

When i first saw this thread, i thought it was going to be a vehicle made to look like the old WW2 russian Katyusha missile truck.. Not a mech.
But was i amazed when i saw that paint job.
