The idea was a ninja like protomech that darts across the battlefield throwing traps all around the field, while also providing some form of battlefield intelligence. Any suggestions or tweaks?
As many people pointed out, this thing isn't exactly clan like. So I decided to use that for lore purposes.
This protomech was initially intended to be IS Battle Armor. But as the designers added in more systems to Battle Armor, it became too heavy. Then they hear that Protomechs are a thing, and try to make an IS Protomech by building the Neuro Helmet in the armor. They find that's not possible, so switch to ER thinking it would catch on. It does not, and someone has the smart idea of of just selling the thing to clans under a production license.
Basically its a Protomech made by people who don't fully understand Protomechs, only have theoretical blueprints on the machine, and are selling it to a culture they don't fully understand.
